Look, there may be some validity to this point, however, I stand by my statement: If that was the BEST Sather could do, I'd rather he held on to Talbot, either as an iron backup for one more year, OR take a chance and trade him later.
OK, so the consensus here is that the NY Rangers should give 6M to a player who for the 2014-2015 season waswas: Ranked 32nd among centers in Points Ranked 56th among centers in Goals scored Ranked 96th among centers in Shot % Ranked 192nd among centers in Faceoff % Please, stop the insanity.
Still had till the trade deadline to dump him.....Jimmy Hayes is a very servicable player and would have helped us out especially at 6'6", rumors all ove hf boards that Slats is still trying to grab him
Sounds like Gorton will be named GM at 4 PM. Sather remains as President. Couldn't they have done this BEFORE free agency and not right in the middle of it? Silly.
Two minor leaguers and Viktor Stahlberg who spent most of last year in the minors, 6'3" and fast, like Benoit Pouliot, scored 22 goals 3 years ago
Caps signed Justin Williams for only 2 yrs. and $3.25M per. That stings. At this point really hope they can find a bite for Klein in a straight up hockey trade for a middle six 20 goal RW on a similar contract. And of course, dump Glass for a 2050 7th rounder. Nash-Brassard-Zucc Kreider-Stepan-??? Miller-Hayes-Etem Stalberg-Moore-Fast If they can make that type of trade for that 2nd line wing that's some forward depth.
Rangers hoping Magnus Hellberg develops into backup goaltender for next season, if Raanta wants bigger money, Hellberg is 6'5" and positionally very sound, Allaire will love him
St. Louis officially retires. He was a great player. One of my favorites. Looking back on the Rangers/Lightning trade, hard to say if it worked out or not, but the Rangers made a Stanley Cup Final appearance, so I would still have pulled that trigger.
Caps now have Oshie and Williams meaning Joel Ward is most likely not coming back. I don't think he is a good fit but could see us taking a look at him. Also think our slim chances of Patrick Sharp have slightly went up being that WAS had been considered a favorite.
Gorton says we are a better team after the trades and free agency, the fans all disagree he said...very perceptive
I like the locker room one where he gets the Broadway hat and says I'm so fuckin' proud to be a Ranger...
Don't understand the strategy this off season we are obviously a weaker team, but Gorton says we are stronger
