I'm not a Tanny hater but he didn't do a good job here. His worst mistake was re-signing Mark Sanchez after a terrible year. It rightfully got him fired. And even he admitted he did a poor job in terms of getting players on offense. Suh is a very good player but he's way overpaid. But I guess you can say the same thing for Revis.
he wasn't res-signed after a terrible year, he was re-signed after setting a franchise single season record for total TDs. his worst mistake was stripping the QB of talent not re-signing the QB to a short term deal the way he has w/ Tannehill in Miami. he went for it, got close and had to re-tool but wasn't allowed to. all top FAs are overpaid.
Look I don't want to get into a Sanchez battle but he's not top. And he was terrible in 2011. Even Tannenbaum admitted after he was fired that the re-signing of Mark was stupid.
he did not say he was terrible in 2011 and that wouldn't be true even if he did say(which he didn't). was he great? no, he wasn't anywhere near as good as 2010 but he was far from terrible. in 2012 he was terrible.

I did. He says he'd still be here if not for signing a Qb who had 26 turnovers to a deal like that. And says Mark could be an effective Qb in the NFL.
The problem w/ his statement is he did sign him after a 26 TO season. sometimes you have to read through the BS

The issue wasn't the QB, it was what was around the QB. we saw what he did w/ talent here and last year in Philly. either way, Tannenbaum did a good job here overall. we can always whine about a contract here and there, a draft pick here and there but the bottom line is the team was in great shape under him. Not so much since he left.
The Dolphins got better, as did the Jets and Bills, but my problem with their roster is that they seem to be relying on a lot unproven players or injury risks. The starters at both guard spots will be unproven and may include a rookie. Whoever wins the Sam spot will be largely unproven as a starter. Same can be said for the #2 corner spot. Then you have three vetetan starters who are injury concerns. Delmas is ahead of schedule in his recovery from a December ACL tear but his history suggests that he's really just an injury waiting to happen. Brandon Albert isn't coming along as quickly and there's at least some concern he won't be ready for the opener. Then at tight end you have Jordan Cameron, who has had three concussions in the last two years and is a ticking time bomb at this point. Too much uncertainty for my liking.
Ah, back to the days of watching a poster debate himself in post after post. Nothing like having the invisible man back in the room.
You know how good he is, I know how good he is I don't think most people know how good he is. I think he's more well known for the non-football stuff he's done. It's still early but it looks like he's made some changes (for the better) too. Time will tell. If the Jets can get a professional caliber of QB play AND Brady's suspension holds up I think it's between Miami and the Jets for the AFC East title in 2015.
