Apparently, you can bring Turley Jets paraphilia and he'll sign it, but all he writes is "Fuck the Jets." Every once in a while some of it pops up on Ebay.

Chad Cascadden sacked Elway twice in the 1998 AFC Championship Game

Turley cost his team the game but what Damien Robinson did was wrong and dangerous and I don't blame Turley for going nuts to protect his QB.

the nickname I was looking for "the big chi"(or "chee)

didn't we end up getting just steamrolled in the game they are talking about? like the game was tied early and then the defense just got their asses handed to them in a 54-14 loss or something? so much for the optimism in this article

the destruction was in 1995- the season opener. the '96 game at Miami wasn't anywhere near as bad but still a loss.

They didn't get blown out. The Jets did lead 14-0. Aaron Glenn had a 100-yard pick six off Marino and O'Donnell hit Webster Slaughter (former Browns WR) for a TD. Marino got hot and put the Dolphins ahead. Neil O'Donnell (who threw for 3 TDs that day) hit Keyshawn for a TD to make it 33-27 but a late FG by Miami put it away.

Overall that 1996 season was a complete mess. They came off a 1995 3-13 season to go 1-15 in '96. The only win was at Arizona in front of 28,000 and what's worse is the NYJ's had "home crowds" of 21,731 vs. the Oilers and 29,176 vs. the Eagles.

I think some of those #s were inflated too especially that Philly game. it was 90% Philly fans. those were dark days, makes the last few years look like SB years but at least out of the darkness came Parcells and co. and began a nice run of being a good franchise.

yes you guys are right. I kind of blocked those years out of my mind. It was all a blur of destruction. The only 2 games I remember clearly are the Night game embarrassment vs. the Raiders (Vance Joseph) and the Eagles game the following year when they very predictably blew a 20-7 and lost 21-20 haha

the Vance Joseph game was the worst. Jet fans were chanting "Let's go Raiders"- it was that bad.

Man alzado was one of my favorite players growing up......I remember seeing him in 89-90 all bulked up and even attempting a comeback. Was as much a wise guy as ever. Then I hadn't noticed him for a couple years, in part cause I was busy in school and didn't follow sports that much. Anyway I remember it like yesterday, eventually seeing alzado interview on CNN with Larry king already looking like corpse. Couldn't believe it. Sat there and cried. Fuckin cancer.

Good one Matt. I remember Waldemore, in a good light too. I never would've thought of him tho, lol.
He was a very good backup, and he filled in in a key circumstance, but I don't remember what is was, lol

    Matt O'Dwyer '95-'98

I'll always remember him. He, Fabini I believe, and a couple of others got in a brawl in a bar in Long Beach, L.I.. O'Dwyer got handcuffed and put in the back of a cruiser and kicked out the door window, lmao. I lived there then and went to camp almost every day...the good ol' days. Parcells shipped him out. He had a good career tho.
