I hope you understand the stupidity of this. Whether the entire world makes pot legal or not does not effect work place rules. Even if the entire world made HGH legal, if the NFL still banned it, I trust you understand that Goodell would not be in the wrong for banning an HGH user. Unless you just hate Goodell. _
So he already got busted twice for marijuana, and now they can test him up to 10 times per month and if he's caught he gets 10 games? It'll be good to have you for this year and next Sheldon, then adios!!
Cmon Sheldon. Smoke all you want in the offseason, just make sure you can pass the piss test come camp time!
Yeah but it's unfair because pot should be legal. It's not. But it should be. Damn that GOODELL!! For making Sheldon smoke weed!! Sue the league!! _
The NFL has a huge public image problem right now. They set up the rules as they to try and calm the storm. I completely agree with you that it is a stupid law, but 1) the nfl's rules are very clear 2) to get 4 games he has been caught multiple times.
This fucking moron.. At least it's an easier 4 games. If he appeals can it be reduced to 2? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
1) yes I hate Goodell and 2) you seriously believe if the United States Government legalizes marijuana the league wouldn't take it off the banned list? the non habit forming completely natural (if grown organically) pain killer? I will not disagree that work places rules and the law are too different things but I fully believe the league only keeps it "banned" because it is illegal. But you are correct my reasoning is stupid because why wouldn't the NFL want players to keep pumping addictive pain killers just to get through the day.
Thought I couldn't have any more sporting disappointment today, then along comes Sheldon my favourite jet and tops off a terrible fucking day. The debate about marijuana is irrelevant, he knew the rules he broke them and got what he deserves. Let's not act like patsies and accept it and move on
Wow. You understand that HGH is legal in this country? With a prescription? It and steroids could be made to be over-the-counter aspirin in this country and the NFL would still make them prohibited. I get it. You're a pothead. You want it to be available to everyone. The NFL could make broccoli illegal if it wanted to, if the NFPLA agreed. Don't be a fucking moron and eat broccoli if the NFL and the NFLPA agreed it's prohibited. I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you too. _
But but but .... theres nothing wrong with it!!! Let everyone smoke!!! Change the rules. Retroactively because there's nothing wrong with it! _
I get what you are saying and I actually don't smoke at all (thank you for incorrectly assuming) but show me the competitive advantage to smoking pot? HGH gives a clear advantage to those using it. You are completely right, the league could ban childrens advil if they can get the union to agree but what would be the point? Or in your example yes they could 100% ban broccoli but again for what reason? If pot was legalized (Colorado being a perfect example, look at what it's done for their economy) I see no reason the league wouldn't take it off the banned list. Mind you they would probably use it as a carrot to get the players to give in on something else like an 18 game season. and to be completely clear i'm not saying Richardson shouldn't be punished, he broke the rules he got caught now take your punishment. That does not mean I can't speak my mind openly on a law and rule that need should be revised.
Last thing. I trust you understand that the United States Government does not have the authority to legalize pot in the individual states, it's a decision each states makes for itself. _
So you see NO competitive advantage to some players smoking pot and some players not? Read about what NBA players are saying. It doesn't enhance performance but it 1000% enhances recovery and down time. It's a PED but not in the strictest sense. _
Yes I am well ware of how the U.S. system works. So far two states have legalized it and it has been a boost to their economy, I suspect many will follow. The federal government does however have the ability to change it's classification from schedule 1. this probably encourages even more states. Millions of dollars in sin tax? Thousands of jobs? who would want to bring such a terrible scourge upon society.
The suspension length.. I thought guys do that all the time and get the time reduced? No? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
So do milk and yoga. Why would the league want to keep their players healthy and cut down their recovery time? that's just silly. If it's taken off the prohibited list by the league each player can make their own choice.
Boosts to the economy and millions of dollars and jobs have nothing to do with this discussion. Nice straw man, though. _
When the league takes it off their restricted list, fine. That a few states have made it legal or potheads cry foul is irrelevant. Work place rules absolutely control. Milk. Yoga. Brocolli. Pot. PCP. HGH. Steroids. Jello. Private businesses make their own rules. If a private business believes pot is somehow performance enhancing, they are right to ban it. Whether you believe they are wrong is irrelevant. _
