Sheldon needs to be smarter than that. He's not playing for Rex Ryan anymore. This is a professional outfit and he needs to start conducting himself like a Pro and a team leader. Bad example. Needs to come back strong.
I will defend the legalization of marijuana because it's prohibition at this time with the science behind it is ridiculous but no one can argue that the rules were straight forward and he knowingly broke them anyways. he did the "crime" and he should do the time.
I cant believe more ppl aren't pissed at the NFL, whose arbitrary, corporate 'politically correct' rules are robbing us STHs or watching our favorite players. What if the NFL's 'rules' states that any player engaging in sex outside of marriage will be banned for life. Sheldon with raging hormones gets caught putting the grease to a VS model and gets banned. Would you still say "He's an asshole, he knew the rules and broke them"? No, you'd say the NFL is stupid for enforcing arbitrary 'rules' that keep our best guys off the field. It's just fn dumb.
i think he could possibly win an appeal if he actually presented a good case for the legalization of marijuana and persuaded the league to rethink their rules on the leagues policy. otherwise, its a rule and he broke it. its a shitty rule, but lets not act like people arent in jail for weed in this country today so it could be worse. sucks he wont play but i think the jets will be alright. this team has some depth on the line.
As was pointed out it still an illegal substance (which I agree is ridiculous). Sex outside of marriage isn't a criminal act where as consuming controlled substances is. The reality of the situation is marijuana needs to be legalized nationally and then the first player to get booked for smoking pot will hopefully take GODell to the cleaners.
I thought it was something extreme like crack. Now thats nothing to play with at all. A lot of people I know are on that stuff. Rich, poor, they are on it and the end result is not pretty.
Do you think Mac knew this was coming when he drafted Big Cat Williams? ...if not, then it's good luck that at least we will have someone now to step in during those first 4 games.
Extremely disappointing. Lost for one fourth of the season. His incredible talent is only surpassed by his big mouth and lack of discipline. This will hurt us dearly, it will intensify Williams role ready or not and weaken our options by a bunch. It does make a stellar point though that when the best player in the draft falls on you lap you take him no matter how deep you are in that area. As it Stands now, one guy is unhappy and one guy is out for four games, so it doesn't take but a moment to weaken your strongest area, either due to injuries, contract negotiations or just plain stupidity.
But they don't. What they do say is: "You know that drug that federal law says is a felony if you possess it? If we find any in your body, you're getting suspended for 4 games." Which is fine by me, just like if he committed any other felony and the league suspended him. It's very simple, follow the rules and don't break the law.
going 1 mph over the speed limit is illegal too. Should the NFL set up speed traps around player's home's? You know, to catch them doing something illegal so they can ban them from their teams and fans.
NFL does not give a rats ass if the fed gvmnt bans something....the NFL polled their millionaire conservative money base assholes that make up about 1% of the fans and guess what? The millionaire conservative money base assholes gave it thumbs down. The only thing the NFL is concerned with is money and corporate image (see domestic violence). And when MJ becomes more and more accepted and more and more players are getting banned, and it starts costing the NFL in TV ratings the 'rules' will change overnight, regardless of what the feds say.
