Anyone here play Ice Hockey in rec leagues? I just started skating about 2 months ago, and I love it. I am taking a Learn To Skate class every Tuesday and am going to Public Skates twice a week. My pops played Ice Hockey for 15 years when he was younger and trained with the Islanders at some of the camps they held. I know I am starting late as hell (25 years old), but I am having a blast and look to start playing in some rec leagues in the next few months once I really get my skating down.
Played from the age of about 11 through college (played club hockey for SU), but after I graduated there really weren't a lot of leagues around so I never really played again--other than some shoot arounds and pond hockey. Played roller hockey for a number of years. Still have my mask, glove, blocker, skates and all my jerseys from college. Great sport. _
You have the largest rink in the south going to be opening near you soon. SR 56 and I75, they are saying the next few months should be open. Unfortunately I can't play anymore.
