So much for Talbot to Buffalo: Sabres trade the #21 to Ottawa for Goalie Robin Lehner and Forward David Legwand.
Why not hang on to Talbot? Who knows where the Rangers would have been if they had a bad goalie fill in for Lundqvist last season. The King is not exactly a spring chicken at 33 either. Having a good #2 like Talbot is great insurance.
because he is an in heavy demand trade bait and we have big needs on offense and a Goalie factory named Benoit Allaire. Skapski should be good enough as a backup, and we all learned this year that winning the most regular season games in the NHL means absolutely shit fuck all. Just get in and take it from there
Brooks says the Panthers offered us Jimmy Hayes, Kevin's bigger brother for Cambot and Slats turned him down, what a fuckin' idiot, 25 years old 6'6" 230lbs with grit, 19 goals last year, and up and coming player who is as big as an aircraft carrier, right handed shot, who can play center, played on a very good line at BC with Kreider, imagine a line of Hayes- Hayes - Kreider, 6'6", 6'5", 6'4"
Hagelin for Etem clearly had to be for Cap reasons, as Carl is much better. Talbot for 3 random picks seems like a bad move too. I don't know.
Yeah I mean I like Etem, he did this in the playoffs this year But he isnt a PK player and he is still 3 years younger and has not put it together completely yet. I think he has great potential though, he likes to be in a scoring mentality. But the move was made to cut costs, cap saving moves. We have $11 million in space now...Resign Stepan to a big deal, need to resign Miller, Fast, get a back up goalie, maybe another bottom 6 guy. We are limited i think
If Glass and Klein aren't also moved at some point this off-season then this is just an absolute disaster. And I don't even hate Etem as much as most. You don't trade valuable core players for cap room and keep junk on the roster.
I am DISGUSTED beyond words with Sather today. I am ashamed I ever supported or defended this guy. After today's performance, he can't retire soon enough, IMHO.
BTW- on a team that has NO first line center, our first three picks? Winger, winger, Defense. Sather, please get lost!
