The whole case against Brady is based on the science. I read the PFT article that says the league's science is flawed. What do they mean by that? Basically it looks like Brady's lawyers are poking holes in the science because any science isn't perfect. The measurements, the gauges, etc. They will do anything they can to plead uncertainty. So in a court how much latitude will they give the NFL if there's a few minor inconsistencies.
It's not all science. The text messages, Brady's prior statements about preferring flat balls, and his refusal to fully cooperate in turning over phone records also work against him. If he makes it all about the science, which the Pats have essentially conceded in accepting the NFL's punishment, he's unlikely to exonerate himself.
Correction, it was a legal formation. What you are talking about is the formation in the Colts game. I realize it's easier to be lazy, but come on.
What I meant by that was it all goes back to deflating the balls and proving it. And the differences in the ball pressure. The initial charges are all based on that. The rest like the text messages is supplemental and circumstantial but very important.
:37 #47 never called eligible, easily moving upfield uncovered. Call the formation whatever you want, today the formation is illegal.
Today, not when the play took place. I understand people could struggle following the elements of the play, but don't confuse the timeline.
Br*dy is only going to take 2 defenses: 1) nothing happened at all with the balls 2) if something did happen to the balls, Br*dy had no knowledge of it They are bringing nothing new to the table, and are simply trying to flip it back to the NFL to 'prove it'. it's arrogance and deniability at it's finest. If I'm the NFL, i let them escalate it to court. i would then make the ball boys the focal point. Investigate their recent finances for credibility first, and then get them on the stand under oath.. if there was hush money, bring it to light. if there wasn't, then see if their loyalty is enough to lie with real legal consequences on the line. break them down... it would totally ruin Br*dy if they spill it.
Their problem is that by NFL rules, it's already been proven. They can take it to court, but if Br*dy still has an ounce of brain matter, they won't. So only realistic hope lies in how much Goodell wants to suck up to his sugar daddy. How about this scenario. Goodell announces something along the lines of: "Mr. Brady presented his texts from which I concluded that he is innocent. We later permanently deleted those texts to preserve integrity of the league" Get my drift?
Fine. The Official should have declared a player eligible so the defense would have an opportunity to cover. The play is good if the defending team is made aware of both the eligible and ineligible receivers. The Official never declares a # eligible...how will the defense know which tackle to cover? The formation really goes to show how desperate B*ll becomes when he can't defeat his opponent strictly lining up. It shows how far B*ll is willing to make a mockery of the league and bend the rules to gain an unfair advantage.
From the Wells report: Items of Value E. Received by Jastremski from Brady Jastremski also has received various items of value from Brady, including in the months before the AFC Championship Game. Over the years, Brady has recognized Jastremski for his work with occasional tips and other gifts. In addition to receiving money from a holiday pool organized by Patriots players, Jastremski believes that he received a supplemental tip of $1,500 from Brady during the 2014 holiday season and has received $500 in cash or gift cards from Brady in previous years.
No, but this is: From Wells report: In their interviews, both Jastremski and McNally confirmed that the messages referenced footwear (“Size 11”) and clothing sizes (“2 or 3X”). When asked who he was referencing and 83 what he meant by “Nah. Hasn‟t even mentioned it,” Jastremski said that he was referring to Brady and asking the game officials to keep the Patriots footballs set to 12.5 psi. McNally said that he understood Jastremski to be referring to Brady and the “big” footballs used during the Jets game. Jastremski claimed that “he gives u nothing” referred to Dave Schoenfeld, the Equipment Manager for the Patriots, rather than Brady. We find that explanation implausible. McNally himself acknowledged that he understood “he gives u nothing” to refer to Brady providing “nothing” to McNally, while Brady had provided items of value to others. McNally also said that he understood the later reference to “unless Dave leaves the room” to mean that Jastremski did not want Schoenfeld to see Jastremski provide McNally with clothing and sneakers. Jastremski believes that he gave McNally the requested gear—a hooded sweatshirt and a pair of sneakers—sometime around January 7, 2015, shortly before the divisional playoff game between the Patriots and the Baltimore Ravens.
those were bribes to do the deed.. but has Kraft or Br*dy provided any hush money since being busted? that has to be privately investigated....check for any bank account spikes since January, car purchases, mortgage principal pmts, kids education funds, etc. if there's anything found, it affects everyones credibility in the matter.....and further's the NFL's case. if it's clean, bring the ball boys to the stand under oath. find out if loyalty alone is enough to risk perjury, or if they'll crack and spill the beans. if they don't crack, there would still be lots of splainin to do in regards to those texts and bribes, and it's doubtful they'll have credible explanations. But if those guys do crack, Br*dy reputation would be beyond shot considering the lengths at which he attempted to deny it.
I think the tips are more of a standard operation esp coming from rich players like Brady for the regular joes who work at the stadium esp those who do them favors (like deflating footballs), getting them food, maybe doing errands for them, etc. Most locker rooms in all sports have spreads after the games. And the players pay and tip the attendants esp around Christmas. I don't think the $1500 coming from Brady is all that much. The bigger money would be paraphernalia, autographs, etc. Now that stuff is worth a lot of money.
Blah,blah,blah..Brady and Bellicheat along with the pats are nothing but low life stinking, scumbag cheaters. End of story.
I hope that the NFL doesn't negotiate with Brady's lawyers and cut the number of games because they are threatening to take this to court. Roger's been burned before when he didn't cut existing penalties and has been criticized for having poor judgment. And the facts are like the other times: if you take it out of the NFL's court he could lose the whole thing. Because Brady hired top lawyers who have won cases like this before. On legal mumble-jumble and on technicalities. But I'd like to see Roger not give him shit and fight it out in court. His job could be on the line esp since maybe he won't have the support of Kraft and other owners will be pissed off if he loses again.
Lets get down to the basic fabric of what Tammy has been doing...... his stats soared since the ball rule (the one he lobbied for), fumbles down, home wins another blip anomaly. Just another systematic part of the equation that is "The Patriot Way" - you know black ops and all that stuff the savaant is orchestrating behind the curtain. But here is the basics of Deflategate and why the science arguement, while sound, is not used. Remember that the Wells report specifically said it reached its conclusion about Tammy's involvement entirely without the science, saying we don't need it. It said there were too many things that would have to be chalked up to coincidence to believe. So, even if the science is "flawed", it doesn't matter; The Wells report didn't need it to establish the basic more often than not wordings based on the NFL by laws on these matters.....evidence of proof (not criminal court language). Science or no science, the balls were under inflated. The investigation was launched because not just one complaint came in, but that it is "well known" around the league this has been going on a long time. The balls were under inflated and the information from JM and JJ -- the trip to the bathroom, the lie about the urinal when there wasn't one, the texts, the demands for shoes, the bitching about Tammy, the guy calling himself "The Deflator" for crap sake.... and the invitation by Brady to bring JJ to the QB Room, all of that is what the Wells report relied on. It's conclusions stated that in black and white. The fact is those footballs WERE under inflated in violation of the rules, AND the circumstantial evidence was loudly howling that Brady knew and directed the under inflation. AND, we also have the Pat's refusal to have Wells re-interview JM after deeper examination and timeline within the texts brought further misdirection. AND, finally, there's Brady refusing to hand over his texts, which we can only assume would have buried him even deeper than the ball boys' texts already had done. Everything you need is in those interviews and in those texts. Kraft had his face danced on by the other 31 owners over all the complaints sent into the league office...... the tipping point was this year and they finally had to act. Once a cheater, always one. I fully expect Bill and Ernie, to roll out another scheme this year.....they're that brazen about it and legacy at any cost is the ultimate goal. I am shocked they let Bill skate on this......the only thing left hanging there is what was burned in 2007 and what Matt Walsh gave as testimony back then which was silenced.
