We're talking about the whole picture not just one instance. Every time something happens are you going to say we couldn't prevent it. So then don't ever do anything. This is the kind of garbage we are getting from the NRA. So what about Newtown then. Just give me one reason why these weapons should be legal. We're not talking about theoretical democracy. Anyone who lives in a society has to give up some of their personal liberties. Hopefully not that many. And despite the problems and some intrusions this is the freest country in the world. And who protects that. The federal government despite all of their flaws.
Again the Constitution allows for amendments. Because shit happens and things change. I understand and sympathize with the concept that to prevent tyranny you can't just allow the government alone to have the weapons. But that tyranny doesn't exist. And we're not in a 1984 scenario. I guess you would say to that- yet. Again you never answered my question a few days ago about the laws on the books on sedition. For them or against them?
How many crimes in this country are committed using heavy machine guns? What weapons are we asking to ban and to what extent are they used in the crimes that are precipitating the demand to ban them?
Well, let's start with Newtown. And you didn't answer my question. What do you need assault weapons for. What's the purpose to have a weapon that can shoot multiple rounds in a short period of time. And don't tell me it's for killing bores. There's other ways to take care of them.
pclfan is a wacko so I am certainly not subscribing to any of his theories but I would like to say this.... Does it really matter? I'm not talking about heavy machine guns because thats just silly but a lot of these AR-15s have high output. Even if* they aren't being used in many crimes they should still be banned because they are dangerous and unnecessary. Thank god this charleston d-bag had just a handgun and not one of those or it could've been way worse! To me its like this. Millions die every year in car accidents, not too many from their own planes. Millions more own their own cars than they do their own airplanes. Yet we still make it more difficult under the law to purchase, register and fly your own plane because its a lot more dangerous than cars. And yet that comparison falls a little bit short because there is actually a purpose/reason for someone to own an airplane. Why the hell does anyone (not fighting a war) need an AR-15?
That's a flimsy argument. But you have a right to your opinion. http://www.motherjones.com/politics...h-capacity-magazines-mass-shootings-feinstein
How the fuck is it flimsy? Do you disagree that they're great home defense weapons? Do we not have a right to defend ourselves and our homes?
Perhaps you should move if you are that concerned about your well being at home. Most of us dont need numerous rounds to protect ourselves. That or become a better shot
Perhaps you should move if you don't believe in the law of the land. I get that you're a dead on balls accurate shooter when you're awoken in the middle of the night by violent criminals invading your house and your adrenaline is pumping but not everyone is so lucky. Trained police officers tend to be a little less accurate too. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/05/08/nyregion/08nypd.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0
Your interpretation of the law of the land that is. Everytime you are asked a question you email us a link to the Bill of Rights. Of course there is a cottage industry extremely well paid in interpreting the Constitution and a court system. That works full time. And they don't have the answers. You send us an internet link and you say it's the law.
I'm not usually awoken in the middle of the night by violent criminals invading my house. So I guess I don't definitively know my accuracy/kill rate. The sample size is just too low
