Given the recent thread in the Jets forum, who makes your quarterback mount rushmore? I wasn't old enough to see a lot of the great quarterbacks in the 80s and 90's but are Elway, Brady, Montana and Marino the consensus for? Favre over Marino? Manning over any of them? Who do you have?
Brady and Montana are the locks. The next two spots are up for grabs IMO. Marino, never won a ring, but in current day, would throw for 10,000 yards. Elway didn't win until he had Terrell Davis. Bradshaw has what, 5 rings? Manning will hold almost every single season record and almost every all time record, but can't get it down in the playoffs. I can't list my #3 and #4.. splitting hairs.

Montana, Brady, Unitas, Elway (Though I would really like to put Staubach on this instead) I kept mine to guys I've actually watched play.
I'm not putting Brady up there without Manning. I don't care what Brady's post season record is, guy is the biggest slimeball elite QB to ever play the game. I'm not holding Manning's 1 sole SB win against him the same way I'm not holding Marino's 0 wins against him. My top: Montana, Elway, Marino, Manning Fuck tom.
going through the decades: Sammy Baugh (40's) Otto Graham (50's) Johnny Unitas (60's) Roger Staubach (70's) Joe Montana (80's) John Elway (90's) Peyton Manning (00's) current decade TBD... that's where I'd be picking my 4 from, and would lean Unitas, Montana, Elway, Manning. a nod to Baugh from a far gone era though, who once led the league in passing, punting, and INT's (as a defensive back) all in one season....old school right there..

you could set your watch by that haircut. back then barbers offered two types of hairstyles......the Johnny U or the high and tight Unitas. Namath's personal style and the AFL's downfield passing style both bordered on sacrilege to the old timers of the day.
thinking of QB's by decade as i did above, the 90's were definitely the toughest decade to pick just one. i went with Elway, but you could easily argue Favre, Marino, or Young. also have Jim Kelly, Moon and Aikman playing at that time, along with Montana at the tail end of his career. was really a great decade of QB'ing.. Favre and Marino would both be top 10 guys imo though, and likely right after the 4 i named above (Unitas, Montana, Elway, Manning)..
another guy not mentioned, who i would put in the top 10 (but not the Rushmore), is Fran Tarkenton. held the passing record for very long time until broken by Marino (and then again by Favre, and soon to be Manning).. he's still in the top 10 in passing yds, from a WAY more difficult era to pass in. also had a pioneering style of play. rushing, scrambling, and extending plays like never seen before. could make a very good argument he was the best of the 70's..
