I'm not a big Murph fan but I'm gonna be happy to see him back next w/e. They need him. I'm gonna say Wright will be back after the All Star game, if not sooner. Just my guess.

Btw, Sandy made the right call with Duda over Ike too. Andy Martino on SNY wouldn't stfu about how wrong he thought it was gonna be. He did admit he was wrong this past winter tho on Hot Stove.

Look, I'm not a Sandy fan. It was hard to overlook Ike's 30 HR season but after that he lost it. Now he's been with two teams and has an uncertain future. I was personally surprised that Duda had a good year, I really thought he was going to be mediocre. But defensively and offensively he's so far been a good first baseman. But still I'm not 100% convinced he can do this over a career. Right now the Mets are getting clobbered by the Braves and mostly losing series to opponents. They won 79 games last year. I see 2015 as a repeat of that.

So glad to be wrong (again). Great W for the Mets. It makes up for yesterday!

I'm sorry, I was out and only caught the end of the game. What was that about them getting clobbered and losing series'? If they're losing series' how is it they have a winning record? Idk?
    :)

J/k. Wow, that was great. Trigured by the young guys. Lagares, d'Arnaud, Hererra, Flores....strong up the middle. That is good to see. And the way they fought back. It did look grim at one point :D

Yes. Big play. Nice job by Flores going out and nabbing that ball too.

Hey losing record since sometime in May. I didn't add up all of the figures on this but it seems like this is the first series we've won in a long time. Nobody I like beating more than Atlanta.

Hopefully that is the last time we see Gee start a game. He looks like a beaten man. Crazy how there was a time last season where he was pitching like one of the best pitchers in the game. Now after injuries and trade rumors he looks like a borderline long relief guy.

Matz better have his spot in the rotation come next weekend though. Super 2 deadline is over so no more excuses.

    That is a clutch win!

Jays would be pretty unreal if they had a decent closer.

Both Flores and Duda were due to get a clutch hit. Imo Duda is light on home runs. But the problem is still lack of run production. It's major because this team doesn't score for long periods during a game. And it's hard to always have to come from behind. Even though they're good at it. Today they didn't score for the first 5 innings. But great win.

Good win but it's shame Familia had to blow the save ... it cost me a win and a save in fantasy and hurt my ERA but it's more important they won the game.

Thor is so fckn impressive...a classic a hard thrower. Young, and a little aloof tho....

If Harvey returns to form, Wheeler does the same, and DeGrom stays on track, that could be as good as we've seen.

I have this dream in my head that our starting 5 next years is going to be Harvey, Degrom, Syndergaard, Wheeler, and Matz. With them all exceeding expectation, and it's the best 5 man rotation in the history of baseball.

I don't know about them all exceeding expectations but I don't think its a dream at all to envision that exact starting 5 next year.

    It's going to happen.

And we'll lose a lot of 1-0 and 2-1 games if we don't get some bats.

But man what a starting staff. Like the 70s Orioles.

Matz is the big wild card for me. If we can add a dominant lefty to a staff that is already pretty elite it would be amazing.

He's the one guy that I havent seen any of. For some reason I kept missing his starts but the highlights and box scores make it look like he's been pro ready for awhile.

The question is if there is going to be a status quo and Sandy will only cover injuries and lack of performance internally can this team still compete in the dog days of summer. The past few seasons after good starts the team hit the wall. You see tons of enthusiasm from these players. But is it enough. Maybe he thinks that this group of players is up to it and that if he brings in an import it could hurt their equilibrium. Or is it because the Mets are just too cheap. Even if Wright comes back he hasn't been a big time offensive player. He strikes out too much and is often behind on fast balls. For me I'd love to see them acquire a bat.

The only question I would have with acquiring a bat is , where are we putting one?

Herrera looks locked into 2nd and Flores is our SS.

Personally I would trade Murphy for bullpen help cause he's a goner next season anyways. Especially if Wright is coming back. Problem with that is if he goes down again were screwed.

But if Wright does manage to stay healthy it doesnt leave any glaring holes. If would be awesome if we could trade Grandy or even Cuddyer with a Niese/Gee and a decent prospect for an outfield upgrade but I doubt thats realistic , unless we were taking on a lot of $$ in that type of trade.

To me an upgrade in left or right is really the only type of trade we would need to make with the offense. The pen is where we need someone.

The called up Akeel Morris one of the young pitchers for temporary BP help. Sandy said Matz is coming....maybe July 1st. He implied that once he's here it could be to stay.
They also have a few injured guys trickling back in...Parnell, Murph, Black, Wright, Carlyle?....

Niese could be odd man out in a deadline trade, or even Colon, if a contender is willing to give up some goods, maybe an Outfielder included, for a chance at a pennant....
