Maybe she didn't have the child right away and he's still there with her. But I was thinking she had the child the first day and that may not have been the case. Just don't want to see the kid miss time. And he's missed Mini Camp now. All things being equal I wish he could've got out of the gate fast

well i don't think a rookie ever makes another young talent redundant.
if both play well, having 2 fast field stretching options is never a bad thing.

besides, Owusu can also return kicks, which Smith does not do.

Owusu is among my top 5 WR choices, and we may keep 6.
he's got a very good chance. if he stays healthy, i think we'd be foolish to let him go. health, specifically concussions, has been his biggest obstacle.

Fair enough. To be technical first time labor typically takes a long time and is unpredictable. The guy is having a kid, it is what it is it's nothing to be concerned over.

pretty sure she didn't have the baby right away, or else he would have been here.
and it doesn't make much sense to fly in for today's half day.

it's not that big a deal, but i agree rookies are behind the 8 ball to begin with, and missing mini camp puts him behind a little further.

Surprised he would say anything, but it must be common knowledge. Puts Mo in a tough spot to make demands. Guess it'll be decided on the field this year

they'll make up for it by giving him more reps when he gets back.

Right, I didn't think of that, and a flag went up after the last couple of years, lol. After Shaq and Milliner I worry, lol. The transition can be really tough on some of them

Richardson over Stacy, which says all you need to know about Stacy. He stinks.

Apparently she hasn't had the baby yet or at least it hasn't been reported. After missing the first 2 days in such anticipation of the birth, it would be silly to come for the 3rd.

I can't say I can appreciate his choices without walking in his shoes, or anyone else's for that matter. Yet in my circle of family and friends, if one was so concerned about the baby, one would marry the girl to ensure the kid has the best environment to grow up in--merely being there for the birth is trivial for the child compared to having a real father. I don't view his behavior as heroic at all.

during minicamp? Don't look into the back half of depth charts in minicamp. That gets sorted out during TC. They are likely going purely by tenure on the team at this point. Richardson was here last year, Stacey was not. It's absolutely that simple.

I don't really mind redundancy on an NFL roster; obviously in an ideal world you'd have 53 guys who are all great at doing different things so you can overwhelm opponents in a multitude of different ways, but you have to account for injuries and splitting playing time.

If one player goes down, it helps to have another who has a similar skill set and can thus assume the roles of the player he's replacing without missing a beat. If Ivory goes down, Ridley is more than capable than being a between the tackles, every down runner. If Smith goes down, Owusu has the speed to be a deep ball threat.

It's hard to make mid season adjustments to a team strategy you've been working on for months when a guy goes down, so I don't mind the redundancy at a couple positions (RB, DL, FS, TE), it just makes us less dependent on individual guys. Teams get burned when they put too much stock into a couple players and they wind up unavailable. "Next man up".

Cleary Todd talked to Cro. :D

    So, Kellen Winslow, huh?
"I'm only talking about football questions."
Will you continue to speak your mind on social media?
    "I'm only taking football questions."
Hey, Winslow played for the Jets!
"I'm only talking football about the Jets—at this point in time. The 2015 football team."
    Did you guys get along?
"I'm only talking about the 2015 football Jets. That's it. So are there any other questions about my offseason ya'll want to know about? Anything else concerning this team and anyone that's in this locker room? Because if there's not, then we can be done."
