A new day, another player sounds off on Rex.

    http://www.bostonherald.com/sports/..._pryor_no_longer_ticked_off_ready_for_correct

We've seen glimpses of what he can be in the preseason, especially vs the Bengals when he made some crazy plays on the ball and the plays he made in the backfield stopping the run as well. After that he had the concussion and it all went downhill from there. I think he'll have a huge year now he gets to do what he does best, roam around in the box and lay the wood.

It's like he said, they had no one to play FS. So they threw the young kid out there. The other choices they KNEW couldn't play FS, but Pryor was still a 'maybe' until he proved them wrong. Which he did

Not exactly "Ticked off at Rex". I'd say he was ticked off that they asked him to play an unfamiliar role. I didn't read a personal attack of Rex Ryan in that. Typical sensationalized headline...

He needs to STFU and play whatever spot the CS puts him in. that goes for rex and now bowles. its not like we were lining him up at defensive tackle. he had a pretty poor season with some really horrible mistakes allowing huge long touchdowns.

hate on rex, he made his share of mistakes, but WTF is calvin pryor to question rex schemes?

His tackling was horrible. He looked braindead at times, the angles he took when he tried to hit somebody. I don't think he's questioning Rex's scheme, he's saying he wasn't used correctly and that's just a fact. He also said he understands why Rex used him that way, but that doesn't mean he should be happy to do something he wasn't exactly known for doing in college. That's not what made him a 1st round prospect.

How dare my boss make me do something I'd otherwise prefer not to do.

Wasnt Rex's fault. Lots of guys played out of position last year because of our GM. Was Antonio Allen ticked off too that he spent most of the year covering the other teams best WR?

Why does the media continue to ask about last year? Mindboggling.

Probably because their article will get linked on message boards. Strange that this would be in the Boston Herald tho

I hope he comes around on trying to become a well rounded safety. He does not have the frame to be Kam Chancellor. Even if he can make the impact hits I don't think his body will hold up long.

    yes but THEY = Rex.

In this case his was ticked off with the coaching staff and that is REX especially on the defensive side of the ball.

Amazing to me, that for a guy who was considered to be such a beloved coach by the players, a handful have come out publically and criticized him. Maybe the everyone loved Rex in the locker room mantra, simply isn't true.

Because if 3 or so have already spoken out make no mistake there are many more.

maybe, maybe not. I think things like this aren't necessarily purely frame size. I think it has a lot more to do with center of gravity.

To be fair, If you got hired to do clerical work and ended up cleaning bathrooms you'd be pretty upset too.

true...I still think the whole comparison makes no sense.

You aren't given a job description when you enter the NFL. He was drafted as a safety, and played safety. If the Jets wanted to move him to OLB, DE, or WR then that's their perogative.

I think the overall point in Calvin was generally upset and feels he was put in a position to fail. But the Jets didn't do anything wrong really, outside of mismanaging their roster.

Definitely not a glowing endorsement for Jaiquawn Jarrett.

I think Rex wanted Landry out there and couldn't rationalize having Pryor on the bench so threw him out there at FS. In the end, I think this experience will make Pryor a better all-around player.

    I'd be pissed too.

I probably wouldnt have said anything, but I'd be pissed nonetheless. I would be getting paid a lot of money, so I would do whatever the coaches asked of me.

He was not put in the best situation for himself. He looked pretty bad last year at times, and I'm sure its frustrating to know that you could be helping the team if the coach played to your strengths.

I understand why he's pissed, I would be too. But airing it out now accomplishes nothing.

Best way to prove your point, is to go out there and play great. Hopefully thats what he does.

we drafted Pryor specifically to fill that need at FS.
    he just couldn't handle it.
his comments were not at Rex, but at his frustration with the role.

that said, with the offseason we've had, and the role change coming for Pryor, i expect him to have a good year.
would never spend that high a pick on a guy limited to playing the box, but i do think he can at least do that role well with a good supporting cast.

Landry didn't have the range any longer for FS, but had a good year at SS.
they drafted Pryor to be the answer at FS imo, and he simply wasn't.

I would be happy to be in the NFL. Two years in and already a prima donna.
