I don't go to fancy restaurants. I mostly go to chain places. TGI, Red Lobster etc. And I do have an accent. Some waiters are really nice to me and I always tip north of 20%. Sometimes 30% and sometimes even higher. But some waiters are bad. Not sure if it is because of my accent. Maybe some of you don't know but if you have an accent some folks automatically thinks you are retarded and treat you like one. Well I am thinking maybe some of the waiters think the same but maybe not. Maybe they are having a crappy day. Well folks, stupid me but I still tip the bad waiters 20% mostly because I don't want people to curse me afterwards but also because I have huge respect for folks who are waiting tables all day and God knows what type of people they dealt with. Well that said, what are your tipping habits?
20% most of the time. It would take exceptional service to go above that, and exceptionally bad service to go below that. The worst I've ever done was 10%, and that was really bad service. How do you tip delivery drivers?
I absolutely will not tip shit service. 20% if the server is good and 30% or more if the service is excellent.
That's easy for me. Min 3 bucks max 5 bucks mostly depending on the change I receive. My biggest challenge is about carry outs? I do carryouts sometimes when they don't deliver and I still tip them 10%
Do not fall for this. He's trying to ingratiate himself into American society so no one suspects him of his nefarious plans. _
There's nothing more suspicious than free money. If I treat someone like an asshole and they still give me money I assume the worst.
To be honest the waiters don't act like assholes but some just rush you, don't come over to ask for second drink or hesitate to clean the table when you are waiting for your desert etc. But some go above and beyond which is nice. But no you are right. I am too soft when it comes to tipping and I know I am really stupid for that.
Yeah, it's like they are all in this sleeper cell where they use faux benevolence to draw in recruits. _
The barista tipping to me is a tad annoying. Does anyone remember tipping the guy who got you a coffee back in the day? You gave the guy a dollar and you were done. Now the Starbucks Grande Pike is $2.25 and you have to throw 30-40 cents in the cup? _
Oh well. Let me start then. Go Fuck Yourself!!!! Now I am hurt... I thought I did a good job blending in.
