Oh yeah? Makes it rather pointless then huh?

Well I only have 1 boss to worry about, and she is very bad with computers, and probably wouldn't care much anyway. Thank you for the heads up though.

It's mostly to keep things out of your search history and prevent tracks from being left on your local computer which is useful. Most companies monitor web traffic before it goes out the door between your computer and the internet, so it doesn't matter what browser you're using or if you're in incognito mode at that point.

Use a VPN to circumvent it:

    https://www.privateinternetaccess.com/

The linked is a pay service I use, it works well. You could do it for free but it will require manual configuration.

Also, your company could potentially be smart and block the VPN connection, in which case you're hosed. Or at the very least they can recognize that a ton of encrypted traffic is flowing to one destination IP address and conclude from that information that you're circumventing their supervision with a VPN, which will likely earn your a private chat with management. Or you could work for a company like mine and it'll fly right under the radar.

EDIT: Also, I'm doing this from my personal laptop. If your job controls your computer and you can't edit connection settings or install software, then this won't help.

Good thing I don't work for some strict corporate business then. I work in the food industry, and we all use the computer here and there, but primary boss wouldn't know the first thing about tracking personal use, nor could she know if we were even clocked in. All I would have to do is say I was on break.

My last job, the boss made everyone run a program called Rescue Time that monitored and timed everything you did on your computer all day and sent him reports. It had like this efficiency rating thing as well. It was pretty much evil.

I fail to see how bullying your co-workers will help.

My company blocks twitter and TGG (among many other sites) but I can see the tweets on thejetsblog.com/jets-twitter.

    Who said anything about bullying?

Nothing is blocked at my work, which is pretty awesome.

Back in high school, they blocked everything, but I had to have been the only person in school who used TGG, so it never got blocked. It was awesome.

Bowles is really impressing me with the way he goes about handling things. I love his ingenuity in dealing with the new practice limitations, having players on two fields so that they all are getting plenty of snaps to learn and for the CS to have an adequate chance to judge the worth and potential of players. I love the way he keeps things in house, his calmness, measured tones, professionalism. I also continue to see others in the NFL make positive comments about him and about the Jets hiring him. I think things are really looking up for us!
