Portland recently "grew" an Arena Football team. Classic Portland. It is not a major pro sport, but people go to see it anyway in droves. I am just trying to figure out the what is the appeal of this pseudo sport. It seems like a cross between WWE, Beer League and Indoor Soccer. And the tickets actually cost quite a bit! What is the appeal of this sh_t?
surprised all them portland "hipsters" care about sports. I thought they all cared about was trying to look cool, growing silly mustaches because its ironic, being seen with classic books but not actually reading them, carrying around an acoustic guitar but not actually knowing how to play it and smoking weed & clove cigarettes with their parents money.
because there isnt actually anything interesting to do in portland? if there was an arena team 20 minutes from where i live and i could get in for 15 bucks i would go.
Aww fuck I got an even better idea. Buy tickets to see the Decemberists and only go the parking lot and loudly complain that you can't go in there now, there too mainstream now. Alternatively, go inside and see the opening band and leave before the main show. On your way out loudly announce that the opener was the only reason you came.
I went to a lot of the Dragon games at the Coliseum, cheap prices brought my sons 4 tickets for $45, sat next to Kevin Mawae 1 game, wasn't that bad
Got all the way to number nine before knowing whether this was Oregon or Maine. Does it make a difference?
Need another team to compete with Seahawks In Arena League the average score in a typical game is like 55-44. Receivers can start running before ball is snapped. Tons of passing, usually try for end zone on fourth downs. Zero defense but some CB breakups. Its a big scorefest with sudden death overtimes like every game. When there is no NFL this is what you get on TV.
I just checked and tickets are as low as $10 on stubhub and season tickets for $100 total which includes free playoff tickets, for Tampa Storm. If you are looking for something to do a night or 2 during the season it seems like a cheap night and the games are usually high scoring so some excitement. Portland tickets look a little pricier at $15 but still not bad.
