I know it's early but coming out of college how do you feel about Bryce Petty's future? What is your personal expectations for the kid? Could he be the next big thing? Another average Joe? a straight up bum.. what ya think? Again i know it's early but it's just your personal prediction/expectation.

His career will follow the path of Kellen Moore/Chase Daniel etc. Never really a "true" backup that you can depend on, just a guy that will go through the development process for awhile. If our current regime flames out in 2-3 years he'll most likely be sent packing with them.

My homerism wants to think he could turn into something good. I just dont think that time will ever come. Things will have to go horrible this year for him to see any playing time and if we still need a QB going into next offseason we'll most likely select one early.

When you say it's early twice in one paragraph, it's probably too early.

This thread can't be serious. 4th round QB expectations?? 1. It's impossible for a 4th rounder to be a bust, when they don't work out its whatever no harm no foul. 2. Russell Wilson's come once in a lifetime so anyone who expects him to be a franchise player is just out of this world. Therefore the only option that's reasonable would be a backup QB. We should all hope he uses year 1 to groom into a good backup and then go from there.

Depends on how well this franchise nurtures him.

He has sufficient brain in the academia for sure - he will need to fix some physical mechanics problem for now. Once that is taken care of, we will see how his academic brain translates on the pitch.

If all works out well, he will be good enough to challenge NE.

I have very little hope that he amounts to anything as an NFL QB but it wouldnt be fair to call a 4th round pick a bust so I didn't vote on any of the options. A bust implies there's expectations that he won't live up to and I don't have any expectations for him to be great. Would love to see the kid prove me wrong and become Russell Wilson

Hope for the best, which is a solid starter. If you get anything close to that, it was a solid investment. If he never starts a game in his career, it was still worth a 4th round risk. He has a lot to learn. It doesn't mean he can't learn it. I think he can. 2016/17 will be the real test for him.

I have no expectations at the moment. He just needs to focus on being groomed and we'll see where he is, plus whatever our qb situation is looking like in a season or two.

First year goals for Bryce Petty: 1. Learn the playbook 2. Don't get caught in a public toilet with a 8 ball and a tranny, that's pretty much it.

Franchise guy right out of the gate. lol

I loved Macs Draft. Its the one that got graded A, so my expectations are positive for Petty. He has a Masters degree so with him and Fitz its practically a brain trust behind center.

Lets see how he plays in the PreSeason.

All I have is hope for the kid to develop into the Qb this franchise has sorely needed since Pennington blew out his shoulder. I also hope this CS doesn't rush the kid and throws him into the deep end of the pool either. They need to let the kid absorb the playbook and learn the flow of the pro game. In between games, he's working on technique and recognition. 2016 at the absolute earliest barring catastrophe. 2017 would be a great target date if all goes well.

There's another category that I would have voted for: starting NFL Qb. Which is not a franchise Qb which indicates way above average talent. Like top 10. Something like a Tannehill who is not elite but is so far about average.
