It appears the Jets signing Fitz was not the answer and if you look at his stats under Galey you would be wonders why we signed him at all. He might know Gailey's offense but never had a winning season or good stats playing in it. Geno is NOT the answer and if he had any hope of being the Jets guy of the future, they would not have drafted Petty. They have Simms who has been the #2-#3 QB for two years and performed well in that role.

I had two QB solutions on my board for the Jets and they both opened up in the draft, but the Jets missed out. In my mind, this miss at QB is just as bad as not using a 7th round pick on Collins, who would have been a starting O-linemen from day 1.

#1 - The best solution presented itself in the 3rd round of the draft when the Rams drafted Mannion. They have Austin Davis who we could have traded for and he is currently listed as the #3 QB in a fight with Keenum and Mannion.

    Rams Current QB Depth Chart:
Nick Foles (Traded for and starting QB)
    Case Keenum
    Austin Davis
Sean Mannion (Drafted, and not going anywhere)

    Austin Davis stats in 2014:
    180 Completions
    63.4 Completion Percentage
    2,001 Yards
    12 TDs
    9 INTs
*Take those stats and ability over anyone on this Jets roster.

#2 - Option two was trading for Mike Glennon the moment they made Winston their official pick. Yes he's a statue, but a statue with a strong arm. Give him a good O-line and running game, plus the defense we have and he could of gotten us to a SB. The only reason he isn't starting in Tampa is because of a HC who know less about offense than Rex Ryan. Lovie Smith knows nothing offense and likes a mobile QB, which is not Glennon.

    Mike Glennon stats:
    364 Completions
    58.8 Completion Percentage
    4,025 Yards
    29 TDs
    15 INTSs
*We passed on this guy to draft Geno a round earlier, wow this shows how bad our scouts and CS really were.

We should have traded for Aaron Rodgers or Andrew Luck they they were my two solutions. I'd fire Mac immediately if I was in charge what a bum for not making one of those trades.

Yup I guess whatever is right for you is right for the Jets! In that case I wanted Kurt Warner to come back one more year. Jets let him slip.

The peanut gallery is sarcastic today. I offered two candidates who could have been cheap, young, better than what we have, and are under contract for at least two more years.

I mean, you say they are better than what we have, but that doesn't somehow magically make it true.

I'm glad you highlighted the best part. "You had 2 solutions and they opened up in the draft" just because you want Davis or Glennon doesn't mean they were up for trade. One of your "solutions" might not even make the Rams roster. And like post above said ^^ just because you think they are better doesn't mean they actually are better.

Perhaps the peanut gallery is frosty today, but, credit to you for un-sarcastically putting 'talented' and 'someone who is behind Case Keenum on an NFL depth chart' in the same sentence. On his way to the pro-bowl (not), Mr. Davis also went 3-5 in those 8 games, with a QBR of 37.6, not that far away from Geno's unspectacular 35.4. (Mark Sanchez, as a point of mediocre comparison, had a QBR of 58).

We have a talented but inconsistent QB as our starter, a reliable but not flashy backup, and a project in Bryce Petty who could sit for a few years like Aaron Rodgers did and then turn into something (or, not).

I don't love it, but I'm ok with that. One thing I am not, is sore at missing out on a guy who is no less of a question mark (or if so, only slightly) than Geno. If there is a sure thing out there, by all means, trade for that guy. I don't see the value in trading one "who knows?" for another.

I voted for Fitz who played decently for Texas in his second stint there last year and has proven he can move a Gailey offense. So far Geno not only turns the ball over regularly but can't move the ball and a big problem for the Jets is 3 and outs, poor TOP and keeping their D on the field too much. Those other two guys are unproven and no big deal. Also if the Jets had wanted either of them they could have had one of them for the 4th rounder they spent on Petty. They liked Petty over those two.

Chan Gailey is the reason why this is Year Of The Geno.

    I'd rather:

    1) Geno Smith make a tremendous leap and become the undisputed starting QB on this team.

    Or

    2) Bryce Petty win the QB job next preseason and be our starter for the next 10 years.

Macc is holding out for Tom Brady.

Kraft is considering cutting Tom outright over the image scandal and huge black mark on the Patriots' accomplishments left by Tom's actions as they relate to deflategate and the subsequent investigation. Brady is near the end of his career with his replacement in the wings, giving Kraft reason to consider it (and save $60M in the process).

If Brady is cut outright, he will look no further than a reunion with Revis to stick it to the Pats.

This is so bad I had to read the OP's replies to make sure I wasn't missing any sarcasm.

Ah, of course guys, Austin Davis was the answer all along. He's the solution! And as the OP somehow knows, Davis was readily available via trade so Mac really shit the bed.

Wasn't the asking price for Glennon a 4th rounder? I much rather would have spent that on Petty. We know what Glennon is already.

If the Jets weren't aware of your board then you have no one to blame but yourself for missing out on these. Stop wasting your time posting here and get this brilliant insight to the Jets front office ASAP!

Yeah we know, and apparently he is a Super Bowl caliber QB on this team. I read that somewhere. That's worth more then Petty.
