I'm a huge NFL fan, but my passion is anime and the works. Any fans here? If so, watching anything? Discuss~! My favorite anime: Aria the Origination
My daughter is a big fan. I don't get it or understand the fascination with unimaginative, badly drawn/computer generated "cartoons". Give me Gary Larson or R. Crumb any day.
Dominion Tank Police, Ghost in the Shell, Cowboy Bebop, any of the late 8o's early 90's ultra violent stuff. Read or Die, Zoids, Gundam.
Im not a huge anime fan but I like some of it when the art stands out, Akira and FLCL are two of my favorites and a few of the Studio Ghibli movies. Im downloading Ergo Proxy atm, have heard great things about it
Berserk. TriGun. Cowboy Bebob. I've seen Escaflowne (not sure if spelled correctly), which was good until the last few episodes when it got very philosophical. I'll admit I love some DBZ even though it is mostly terrible. Goku is so awesome.
I like some anime but I'm not really a huge fan, I don't necessarily seek it out and tend to avoid shows that are like 10 seasons long. Watched some of the classic movies like Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Studio Ghibli movies and some older shows like Dragon Ball and DBZ, I also liked Neon Genesis Evangelion. More recently watched some stuff like Attack on Titan, Darker Than Black and a bit of Sword Art Online.
Big news came out earlier in the month. Dragon Ball Super is coming out in July to TV in Japan. The original creator of the Dragon Ball Z that I watched is coming back to take on the series. This takes place 15 years after the Majin Buu saga when there was a time of peace. http://comicbook.com/2015/05/22/dragon-ball-super-first-look-at-goku/ THIS IS HUGE...Dragon Ball GT was done by someone else and is essentially thrown out because it was such a weak follow up. Can't wait for this. I am currently in the middle of Naruto Shippuden (in 200's) Took a break from it like 5 years ago. I also used to watch Bleach.
Yeah, it has potential. GT was pretty bad, but this one certainly has a chance seeing Akira is back. I'm pumped, yo.
As far as art and production goes I haven't seen anything that comes close to being as polished as FLCL but the storyline for EP is very good so far
Is Mr. Natural coming your way? How about JayZee Lynch? The East Village Other had Crumb comics all the time. Loved it
Dragon Ball never gets old. Loved YuYu Hakusho too. I lile Ruroni Kenshin mostly because I liked seeing the interpretation of a cast pf largely real life people during that time. I enjoy the meiji restoration as much as I enjoy the sengoku period. Two major periods of japanese history outside of WW2
That show had super gay overtones. The original gundam was good and the 08 ms team. That series is notable for that fact that anyone is liable to die at anytime.
