96 Million? This just speaks to the dearth and scarcity of any NFL QB who is halfway decent.

Joe Flacco money for not even close n to his accomplishments

Subtract 25 -50 million here and it's closer to his true worth

This is why it pays to have Mac running our show

So you don't think a QB who improves every year, throws for over 4,000 yards, better than a 2/1 (27/12) TD-INT ratio and a QB rating of 92.8 is "halfway decent"?

BTW, Mac spent almost the same amount of money on a 30- year old CB.

QB's win in the NFL, not CB's.

He's no different then Andy Dalton. These guys put up decent numbers but they don't win big games.

We knocked the Dolphins out of contention in 2013 with Geno Smith and Dee Milliner picking him off.

I think I saw that Tannehill was 15th or so in QBR last year (if QBR really matters?). He seems to be one of those guys that teams in the bottom half of the league would take in a heart beat, but no one really thinks he's a top 10 QB. I like him and think the timing for the Dolphins makes sense. But of course, as a Jet, I hope his progress plateaus........

So you'd rather have Geno Smith or Ryan Fitzpatrick over Tannehill and Dalton?

Not saying Tanny not a good QB or better than what Jets have my argument was over his price tag

Mac got us Mevis and paid big $$ because he rated a #1 CB in NFL

Tannyhill is far from a number 1. He just good. But if good can get you 96 million prob means he had a good agent. 75 mil tops for this guy and IMO that's plenty

While he turned it around last year it's still suprising to see a team give someone that much money when less than a year ago he was on the verge of being benched.

and this QB has never won. That CB helped his team win a SB and is the best CB possibly ever while this QB again melted in the biggest games of his season.

Fans get too crazy over meaningless #s, Tannehill is an average at best QB right now BUT this deal was not a bad one for Miami. The guaranteed money is low enough that if Ryan falls on his face in the next 2 years they can get out of it but if he rises and becomes a good QB then they will have a bargain.

huge but I think a worthy gamble. he has ability and they began to take advantage of his athleticism last year but can he take that next step?

Combined cap hits for Suh & Ryan Tannehill in 2016 are 40.24M ... I believe the cap should increase to about 160M in 2016, but man that is a lot of money for 2 players; with 1 being average.

And he also donates a portion of it to charities every year in the form of league fines. What a kind soul
