It seems the NBA is like the NHL, in that they don't know how to schedule Tuesday is Game 1 of Houston/GS Wednesday is Game 1 of Cleveland/Atlanta
and once again, back to Chris Paul one of the best PGs ever 10 seasons, has never made it to the conference finals
He's rarely he had the better teams in the semi finals. The Thunder were better than LA last season... CP3 had his lowlights , but they weren't as talented. In 2012 they ran into the Spurs, and in 2008 they played the Spurs once again. This series was the exception, and it's a shame they couldn't get it done, because Golden State is likely going to kill Houston.
Golden State is a skill team, I can see the Rockets "touching" them a lot and messing with their rhythm, they aren't an extremely physical team and only the physical teams get the pace called, I can easily see GS falling in 6 games although it will probably go to 7
Honestly I think GS would've handled the Clippers as well. This Clippers team has no depth. Spencer Hawes? Big Baby? Hedo Turkoglu? Austin Rivers? Crawford, Barnes, Jordan, Redick, Paul, and Griffin was all they had. Any injury or foul trouble and they're in huge trouble (notwithstanding that miraculous win against Houston without Paul). You can't make the NBA Finals with six usable players (unless you're in an awful conference like the East the last few seasons, then maybe). I think GS has a very high probability of beating Houston, and they also would've had a very high probability of beating the Clippers.
If there was a team that would outphysical GS it would have been Memphis, I just think that GS is just flat out better especially since both teams prefer a fast pace game, I also think that Houston won't be able to keep up with GS depth as well
Doing well so far. Next round: Atlanta in 7 (upset! Cleveland is over -200) Golden State in 5 http://forums.theganggreen.com/sportsbook/western-conference-finals.33/ vbookie for WCF will post ECF as well
Chris Paul is not why the Clipper lost this series. Sure, he blew game 5 against Oklahoma last year, but beyond that it is hard to put any of the Clippers shortcomings on him. Doc Rivers is why they lost. I've always thought he was extremely overrated and under achieved with Boston. one title with that team was not enough. Look at the series leads he has blown as a coach: 2010 NBA Finals up 3-2 2012 Eastern Conference Finals - Up 3-2 Blowing the West Semis last year, even if it was 2-2-, has to fall on him partly considering how they lost game 5 with a 7 point lead in 60 seconds. And this series, up 3-1 and blowing a 19 point lead in game 6. This isn't unusual for Doc Rivers and its hard to argue this team is any better than they were under Vinny Del Negro.
I consider Doc to be a good coach, but he's not definitely not one of the elite coaches in the game. In my opinion, Doc Rivers's personnel decisions as the GM cost the Clippers this series. Chris Paul basically played the whole game, because they didn't have a reliable veteran to "hold the Fort", while Paul was on the bench. Griffin was clearly exhausted, but they didn't have enough depth to give Griffin much needed rest. He whiffed on his offseason acquisition and he traded Jared Dudely away for peanuts. Balmer needs to hire a real GM, whose had success in the past. If the Clippers had a solid bench, IMO, they would have won 60+ games and they would be heading to the WCF.
Doc made a lot of bad decisions with the personnel. The Clippers used to be deeper. Trading for his son was idiotic, especially because his son had no value, really. No one wanted him, and for good reason. Paul/Griffin/Jordan was a tremendous base he was given and he screwed it up.
2003: Coaching Orlando https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2003_NBA_Playoffs#.281.29_Detroit_Pistons_vs._.288.29_Orlando_Magic That one was with the ultimate loser, Tracy McGrady, jinxing the hell out of his own team. http://www.celticslife.com/2013/03/why-less-is-more-for-doc-rivers.html
Looks like I was close too. I had every team right. I had 3 of the games 1 game off, and 1 exactly right.
same. ECF vbetting http://forums.theganggreen.com/sportsbook/eastern-conference-finals.34/ I think Atlanta isn't getting enough respect. They have home court, Cleveland is without Love, and Irving isn't 100%. IMO, Atlanta is just as good, if not better. The NBA did help the Cavs by inexplicably giving them extra days off, while making the West teams play right away. http://espn.go.com/nba/playoffs/201...s-plans-play-game-1-eastern-conference-finals Irving plenty of time to recover.
It's that time of year again! http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/05/19/has-the-nba-stopped-fixing-the-lottery-100-not/
And here's the lottery history of the Spurs: http://basketball.realgm.com/nba/teams/San-Antonio-Spurs/26/Lottery_History in it three times, won twice, got a better draft position than their record dictated each time. Compare to the Knicks: http://basketball.realgm.com/nba/teams/New-York-Knicks/20/Lottery-History
Hawks in 6 Warriors in 5 A Warriors Hawks finals would be great basketball, especially if Atlanta can "find" themselves again.
