you said anyone who has any connection whatsoever to this game understands how minor of an issue it actually is.
and that is totally absolutely a false statement.

The difference between breaking them in and actually deflating them (as an illegal part of the prep). We only know one guy got caught although several ex-Qbs have come out since and said they did it, too. I wonder if Wells did ask Brady how long he'd been deflating balls. But I guess his answer was: I never did it. Which Wells thinks is a lie.

taking over an UNDEFEATED team from a year earlier facing much weaker schedule and still not making playoffs.

Cassell 10-5 as starter in 2008, let's compare how NE did against playoff bound teams w/ Matt and Brady:

    2007 Pats:
    6-0
    averaged 39 PPG

    2008 Pats:
    averaged 24 PPG

by the way, that neutered dog led KC to a div title 2 years later

Cassell wasn't aware of the deflation procedures.

Belichick was smart enough to evaluate Brady in camp and keep him on the active roster (when a lot of 6th rounders get cut). And then to start him over Bledsoe when Drew came back. Again pure speculation: could NEP have won 4 rings without Brady. Well BB didn't win anything at Cleveland without Brady. I guess that's Junc's argument. But imo the Patriots are Belichick. And would have won with or without Tom Brady. Because Bill would have found somebody to play within his system. I'm not taking anything away from Brady. He's HOF. And I have no doubt Kraft will get rid of Brady asap no matter what he says. I can see Brady finishing his career with another team. For example, the 49ers.

The Pats are Brady not Belichick, Belichick would be a DC somewhere today w/o Brady.

And Junc. If Montana (who wasn't the 49ers but one of many great players). If anyone was the 49ers it was Walsh. If Montana can finish his career with another team (when SF really wanted Young over Montana) than Brady can also end up finishing his career with another club. And I think Deflategate and economics could push this forward in the next few years.

Yes, but you specifically referred to the NFC Championship in the 80's as the "Real Superbowl" Are you changing the requirements to your statement?

yep, Feely saw that in 2004.
in the same year, they did get busted for it against the Jets too. the league sternly reprimanded them, by saying please don't do that anymore.

nothing the league has done has deterred the Cheats in any way from continuing to cheat.
they really needed to drop the hammer this time, and include Kraft and Belichick. Br*dy receiving only 4 games is weak.

but at least the 'legacy' of all is permanently stained.
Br*dy is in the discussion of best QB just like Bonds is in the discussion for best home run hitter. First thing discussed with be the *

Br*dy doesn't have the balls (literally and figuratively) to try and play for anyone but Belichick..

he'd fall flat on his face.
once the Pats cut bait on him, he'll retire.

There's not a lot of loyalty up there even though Kraft pontificates about it all the time. But you are the silliest of guys for calling BB a glorified DC if it wasn't for Brady. Wouldn't you like to retract that remark. BTW just as a reminder. The Jets a few years ago tried to copy NEP success when they hired Mangini. It was a copy cat more but it was all about that. It didn't work because there is only one BB.

I misread your post, you are correct.

In 5 title NFC title games:
    SF D allowed 11 PPG

    In 6 SBs:
    NE D allowed 21 PPG

I think he'd be pretty good. But he's slowing down and more prone to being sacked. He could be very effective with a good team who has a very good O-line.

    Br*dy is Belichick's puppet.

He learned a lot of the good traits from him......preparation, game planning, recognition, film study...
but also learned the bad ones as well......cheating, passive aggressive arrogance, lying, etc..

he'd fail miserably without the advantages of NE, and Belichick's team preparation.
I'd love to see it though, as it would just be more evidence of Br*dy being the overrated QB he is.

in 3 of the 4 title game wins his D allowed a TOTAL of 6 pts. That makes it a little easier to win, right?
