I'm not sure I'm ready to make Tejada the SS outright, just off of this game. I still think they should platoon Tejada and Flores. I think at some point in the season Sandy will make a move for a SS. I think.
Dam.... the Grady Sizemore train came to a screeching halt since 2008. 33 HR's that year and he has 33 total since then.... wow.
Tejada flashin' more leather today from 2nd base. Shows ya how much that up the middle D is so important. We just have to wait for Sandy to fit the pieces in thru the system. Thanks to the Coupons. Sandy did make the trades for Bullpen help so it's in him to make a key move as the season progresses, maybe to land a piece if they're making a run
I am incredibly excited to see Noah Syndergaard tonite. Sounds like he has really worked hard and become more of a "pitcher" and less of a flamethrower. _
I don't want to see any trades until the team is healthy, this team was separating themselves from the rest of the NL east with darnaud and wright in the line up, let Flores platoon with tejada for now, but let's just get some games under their belts with the full complement of players. I believe it gives them more leverage, don't want them to come across desperate. It's a long season. Herrera seems like he will fit in nicely too
He has to contend with Wrigley with this wind and what's probably going to be very little run support judging by the lineup.
Yeah Murph really styled there. My GF said that Syndergaard guy looks like Thor and literally a minute later they show a closeup of his glove with the "Thor" stitched into it _
Add that to the fact that the Mets still can't hit and you can see the Nats overtaking this team before June 1st. Alderson still needs to get some bats or the Met pitchers will have to continue working with no room for error.
Yep. No regular hitting .300 is killing us. Wright and d'Arnaud bring out is devaluing every other bat in the lineup. I think we can still keep pace cause the pitching is too good not to but can't have games where 3 runs seems like a lot every night. Word is Tulo is trying to force his way outta Colorado. I don't love the idea of trading for him (especially if it means giving up a pitcher) but it's about time the Wilpons take on a contract like his. Hate the idea of wasting a potential Cy Young season from Harvey and Colon cause the bats suck.
I want to have my cake and eat it too. I want a great fielding hitter but I don't want to trade Noah or Matz. UGH!
Two things.... 1) Everyone knew there was no way Torres was going to hold the lead. 2) Gary and Ron kept saying this is a must win game. Well, if it's such a must win game then how was Harvey not out there for the 8th? He threw 86 pitches last time out. Oh one more....Torres will lose it in the ninth.
