I'm glad Bill Parcells made that quote about not being able to shop for the groceries because he never once appeared in a SB after teams allowed him to do it and it gives me hope that most coaches shouldn't have final say in the draft

I never saw it. And I googled it and didn't find any article like that. Look, he was involved in the vetting process: he went to the combine, games like the Senior Bowl, Pro Days, etc. He didn't make the final decision, true but he was involved and consulted with. And his opinion was listened to, but Mac made the final call.

Looks like some kind of half bee/half mosquito. Terrifying.

Come on you should be embracing the cutest bees in the world ever. It's better than talking about John Connor

He's still in the division and thus is still a topic of interest. but I agree, he gets far too much burn around here. Love or hate Rex a new and thus far positive era has begun for the Jets. let's move on.

Rex is what he is. A DC disguised as a HC. He is loyal to a fault and he can't manage timeouts worth a damn.

    Tahj Boyd.

edit/ Just saw someone already mentioned it. Probably the most heinous decision he made as a the HC of the NYJ. Even if it was a 6th rounder or whatever.

It is okay because the person you are responding to doesn't have the capacity of short term memory or even the ability to learn more than basic thought skills

You people are a joke. Fucking really? He was allowed to make a 6th RD pick. So if we all know about that pick? How come we don't know about all the other draft picks? Maybe? Just maybe he didn't make any others? SMH

So now your head coach was drafting players and doing the job of your GM and scouting department?

Idk about here in NY...(sometimes I thought so..sometimes they acknowledged it) but definetely there in buffalo!

They ignored needs/good players and took common Rex Ryan positions: CB & RB.. They took his sons token Clemson butt buddy, an old school, slow TE (classic Rex)....

We had a contract lawyer playing the role of GM when Rex got here and all of a sudden every early draft pick outside of Sanchez was a player that would somehow fit Ryan's defensive scheme, by his own words in every post draft press conference.

Your right it was a total coincidence

    Have fun with that

Ignored needs? Our only real need was a guard, and we took one with our second pick.

We needed depth at other positions including CB. McKelvin and Graham are 30 years old and Gilmore is in his last season.

That RB we took was a 5th rounder. A 5th.

    TE depth was a need.

Our GM has been here for like 5 years and has been a part of many successful drafts. He knows what he's doing. You think Rex just walked in here and ordered people above him around? Give me a break.

your GM is good, which is why its curious to me that as soon as Rex Ryan was hired Whaley has made moves that are uncharacteristically bad. Makes me question who's actually running things there now that Pegula owns things and brought in Rex.

Pegula brought in Rex, not Whaley. He could be very easily running things with the oilman's blessing
