If it's a stiff 4 games with no appeal it's OK. I suspect it will go down to 2 games (not good). But at least the word "CHEATER" will forever be on that franchise.
Payton DID know about Bountygate and tried to sweep it under the rug. http://www.nola.com/saints/index.ssf/2012/03/full_nfl_statement_into_bounty.html Although head coach Sean Payton was not a direct participant in the funding or administration of the program, he was aware of the allegations, did not make any detailed inquiry or otherwise seek to learn the facts, and failed to stop the bounty program. He never instructed his assistant coaches or players that a bounty program was improper and could not continue.
Ah I get you, never mind then. Although imo you are wrong all day long in every other aspect of this thread
He meant the opposite. He was saying that if Tom Brady does not appeal, he would be acknowledging that he did it.
I understand what you mean, but I don't believe you should overpunish someone just with the expectation that the appeals process will have it reduced. I think when it's all said and done the right thing to do is have him gone for 4 games. I don't have a problem with it being the initial suspension but I hope whoever hears the appeal understands that the punishment is already fair.
Gotta wonder if the NFL knew all of this prior to making the schedule, both the Bills and the Cowboys, media hotbutton teams, are in the first four games.
Do the right thing Roger. Turn him down. You got your $payoff for this measely slap on the evil empire and their poster boy Tommy
Best post from SNY "brady sucks"; They should have punished the Patriots by suspending Bellicheck as the GM and then replacing him with John Idzik.... Classic.
he should be required to give up what he refused to provide during the investigation if he appeals IMO.
Bellishit bears a charmed life....so far. Compulsive cheaters are due to fuck up somewhere along the line
Seeing as Br*dy lied and refused to co-operate with the investigation he should have been suspended for the whole season, about time this Cheater got some karma!!
Don yee crying ridiculous. Please appear and lay out the goods please.....add more games Patriots quarterback Tom Brady saw his agent, Don Yee, release a statement on Monday night in response to the league’s suspension of his client and he’s not impressed with the NFL’s penalty coming off of last week’s release of the Wells report. Yee believes the four game suspension will get overturned in front of a “neutral” judge or arbitrator. “The discipline is ridiculous and has no legitimate basis,” wrote Yee via ESPN Boston. “In my opinion, this outcome was pre-determined; there was no fairness in the Wells investigation whatsoever. There is no evidence that Tom directed footballs be set at pressures below the allowable limits. In fact, the evidence shows Tom clearly emphasized that footballs be set at pressures within the rules. Tom also cooperated with the investigation and answered every question presented to him. The Wells report presents significant evidence, however, that the NFL lacks standards or protocols with respect to its handling of footballs prior to games; this is not the fault of Tom or the Patriots. The report also presents significant evidence the NFL participated with the Colts in some type of pre-AFC Championship Game planning regarding the footballs. This fact may raise serious questions about the integrity of the games we view on Sundays. We will appeal, and if the hearing officer is completely independent and neutral, I am very confident the Wells Report will be exposed as an incredibly frail exercise in fact-finding and logic. The NFL has a well-documented history of making poor disciplinary decisions that often are overturned when truly independent and neutral judges or arbitrators preside, and a former federal judge has found the commissioner has abused his discretion in the past, so this outcome does not surprise me. Sadly, today’s decision diminishes the NFL as it tells its fans, players and coaches that the games on the field don’t count as much as the games played on Park Avenue.” - See more at: http://www.patsfans.com/ian/blog/20...ne-is-ridiculous/?sc=rss#sthash.uAMmbTum.dpuf
