Yes you're right, no man on earth would ever be able to think up a better scheme than blitzing 7 players on third down with a 3 wide set while Eric Smith is the lone safety, LMFAO

If that is the case, why did the Cards have such a good defense last season despite the key injuries they had throughout the season?

Bowles could very well be just as good of a DC compared to Rex, and I already believe he's a better HC in he long run.

    Julian Edelman?

    Did Revis Quit?

On third down, expect Skrine to slide outside leaving Mevi$ to take away Buck Frady's fave little boy toy, till the Big Cat eats him up.

I remember very well the way Rex's defense let us down in the playoffs as much as it helped us, you're the one with selective memory and constant reliance on overall stats instead of in game situations when it actually matters. It's okay, I'm sure there will be plenty of room on the Bills bandwagon once they win 5 Super Bowl under Rex (LMFAO!!!#!#)

Oh btw, Rex never beat Peyton Manning in the playoffs, Typical non football knowing buffoon

No but it's the smaller, quicker guys like that who seem to get us on third down
I have too many memories of that with him and Welker and those types
But yeah, with Skrine instead of Wilson, it should be better

as jets fans, we can't even think about our qb's being able to do accomplish what dilfer or even mcmahon were able to accomplish with there teams because times and circumstances have changed so dramatically since.

first the '85 bears didn't play passing teams like we do in this age. they played one team with a somewhat "spread" offense in that they played 3 wide wr's often and they handled the bears in there one game. (phins 38-24)

as for the '00 ravens, lets also remember that they had a tremendous bruising rb behind a very good o-line plus a special teams that were second to none that year.

but manly we must remember that in '00 it was basically an off year in the nfl. what i mean about that was that there were no mvp/hof qualified qb's running rampant that year. it was right after elway retired and p. manning was still earning his stripes, to say. brady wasn't around and neither were young or montana. If you look at that year stats, only favre was a hof qb playing in his prime and even he didn't have a great year. otherwise a bunch of ok qb's who wouldn't scare anyone compared to qb's playing in '15. not to mention all the rule changes in favor of today's nfl offenses.

Just curious, since we are as good as the 2000 Ravens, who's the Ray Lewis, Peter Boulware, and Jamie Sharper, of this team?

Exactly. Not to mention Rod Woodson. The defense will be really good but Rome wasn't built in one offseason

In 2014 the Cardinals defense were ranked 5th in points allowed, the Jets 24th.
In 2013 the Cardinals defense were ranked 7th in points allowed, the Jets 19th.
In 2011 interim head coach Todd Bowles' Dolphins defeated Rex Ryan's Jets, knocking the NY Jets out of playoff contention. It was Bowles third game as interim coach and Rex Ryan's third year guaranteeing a Super Bowl that didn't happen.

So thankful Todd Bowles isn't on the same level as Rex Ryan.:)

he does w/o the clutch late game play that sanchez exhibited to help us win a lot of games and help us get close to 2 SBs.

Fitz is a backup, this is a man that has never started more than 6 wins in a season. He is not Trent Dilfer, he is not Brad Johnson, he is not Mark Sanchez, I am not sure he is as good as Geno Smith. Our best chance to win is if Geno improves otherwise this is a throwaway year looking for a QB next year.

Fitzpatrick can be more than what Dilfer was to Baltimore. We have a ton of weapons for him to work with and an elite Offensive Coordinator that he has already worked with in the past.

See, that's not the appropriate measure. The real question is what other teams in the NFL will have a better D this coming season.

Seattle, probably. After that? In short I can easily see the Jets having a top 3 D this comimg year, and if thye do that, they are in a position to make trouble with decent Qb play.
