Who is talking about him starting? People are just interested in Cimini's quote that he his having a good first day.
Lol @ "all this talk", nobody is talking about him starting, if you want "all this talk" go to the Petty thread where people are giving up on him because he threw a pick 6 on day 1 of rookie camp
I'm as big a Petty bandwagon fan as there is here and I want him no where near the field until about week 14 in mop up duty. Starting NEXT year? Yeah I could buy that. This year no way. _
Agree completely. I want him to watch, practice, learn and stay healthy. Whatever we do, we better not start him before he is ready. . If we have not learned that by now, after the Sanchez and Geno nightmare we are in deep, deep trouble. A good year under Gailey can do wonders for this strong arm intelligent kid.
Unless it's one of their first games, I wouldn't be expecting any blowout losses with Bowles. Unlike Rex, who was all bravado and mouth, he'll have the team playing disciplined, smart, tough football each and every week and they'll be prepared to play.
Yes, I think we could have some of those, maybe not in the year 1, but perhaps when Petty takes over as QB in year 2 or 3.
Just looking at some shots of Petty from minicamp. He's got nice mechanics, his throwing style is a little reminscent to Brady. Also his lower body is impressive. Kid's got thick, strong legs and a great base to throw off.
This. I wanted him in as early as the second round. No need to throw him in the fire since we all know he won't be ready,
A few things to take note of. Big rangy kid. Big hitter. Ball hawk. Massive leader on defense. 70% of those highlights are from sophomore year, his junior year he was not as good. You can tell from the new unis. I'm rooting for him. He just fell off last year. I was hoping he'd stay his senior year. I hope that was just an anomaly and he progresses, could be a diamond in the rough. _
