It's a fucking crime how this team just does not elevate itself for Lundqvist. Thank you for stepping it up in OT, Holtby went into god mode and was saving the most wide open of shots. St. Louis should be ashamed of himself. I really want us full steam ahead in a do-or-die game 6. Fucking shoot till the game is over. Caps are going down on blocks whenever someone lines one up. Stepan made a good move this time around, usually I get annoyed but him holding and passing to McD opened the lane and Holtby was going down. What a goaltending effort from both sides. I just am so proud to call Lundqvist our goalie. Just wish they kept at it and made it easy for him.
Analyzing the winner. It was everything that has been happening that hasn't worked...all worked in our favor. Ranger doesn't take shot Caps player slides to block (fake) shot Ranger fakes shot and passes instead of shooting Ranger left with a wide open lane/shot Shot goes in The thing is, every rangers fan has been screaming to shoot the puck and when you listen to the audio, there is a slight moan after the fake...lmao.. pretty funny if you ask me....well funny cause it worked and we won. Less than two minutes away from the ECF. Lundqvist pulled, and the Rangers instantly score. Thus, my life as a Jets/Caps fan in a nutshell. The Ward no-goal was pathetic, and I truly felt it shifted the series to the Rangers, but then Glencross gave the Caps the lead in the 3rd. Rangers score, then do so again in OT. Series shifts back to DC with the Rangers having all the momentum. I will go to Game 6 and Rock The Red though. I am mostly a .500 player, not near as good as HSS's son. So the Rangers fans shouldn't worry too much.
I only have Ovechkin and Backstrom. I really need to pick up a Holtby jersey. Especially if they pull off this series. I understand the Rangers fans now acting so upset but still confident after each loss this series. It is how I have felt too. More pumped up after the losses than the wins. Odd. I felt the urgency to go to Game 6 immediately after the Rangers OT goal. haha. Ticket cost $230 which is pretty good for a lower level Round 2, Game 6 ticket.
Winner of game 6 takes the series IMO. No way they come into the garden after blowing a 2 game lead and win game 7.
Good post TDK, but Ward Interfered with Hank and it should have been a penalty, imo...also thought Ovechkin deserved one too

Mats looking like a cross between Andy Kaufman and Robert Downey Jr. You're right Matt: Ward definitely interferred with Hank and deserved 2:00 minutes for good measure. Wished Marty one-timed it instead of settling it on his blade and giving Holtby just that little extra time to extend his pads across the crease. That and maybe 'roof it'. To his credit he (and Nash) picked it up - Holtby absolutely glove-robbed him from the low slot. Dying a slow death 0-1 at the end. What a well-deserved comeback win. Game 6, I think Washington will come out hard instead of being defensively cautious and "feeling them out" with Ovi in particular in 'chippy mode' esp. down low for the purpose of getting that first goal. Survive the opening 10:00 minutes and then empty the tank one shift at a time. LGR.
