I don't know if you are a Twitter guy, but the pat fan reactions on there are insane, moronic, and downright hysterical. (Junc, pretty sure some of them read your posts. No, that's not something to be proud of)

But kudos for you for seeing without the tinted glasses. It's not easy. I know a ton of pats fans, as I went to school in boston. Most honestly take your approach. They realize that this was done intentionally and that Tom really did himself no favors by not cooperating, and feel just like you. 4 games. A fine. Maybe they lose a pick or bb gets fined or misses a game or two (the bounty gate ignorance defense). And that's that.

Personally I agree too. 4 games. As much as I'd love to see him and the pats suffer immensely, the punishment should fit the crime. I mean does anyone in their right mind think they lose that game with properly inflated balls? I mean shit, the way they played he could have used a bowling ball and won by a score or two. It's an advantage for sure, and it's pretty clear based on the report that all of this was done intentionally, but it really isn't as bad as say, stickum, or something covered in tape on the body that's intended to injure a player.

Oh and if he does get a full year and bb and Kraft get big penalties, full disclosure, it may be the happiest day of my life as a jet fan lol

I think the real punishment will come for lying and conduct detrimental to the league. If he would've admitted it at his initial press conference it would have blown over within a week. The fact that he lied and didn't cooperate with the investigation should lead to a year suspension. I expect 8 games at a minimum plus fines and draft pick loss for the organization.

I appreciate your honesty and objectivity. I only want to question one thing you said. Based on the report, what makes you think it was limited to the AFC title game? Brady starts complaining about the ball inflation level in October. I think it's pretty clear this could have been happening since the Jets game in NJ or.......maybe after the KC game that embarrassed Brady and the Pats.......or maybe before the 2014 season? Who knows with the a Pats and Brady? There is zero credibility with them now and all of the team's and Brady's accomplishments will forever be under a cloud of suspicion. Is Brady the Bonds/Clemens of the NFL?

    Per the NY POST

New England Patriots’ quarterback Tom Brady was showered with cheers and whistles from fans as he showed up to a scheduled event — in a helicopter — on Thursday night. Making his first public appearance since the release of the Wells report on Wednesday, the embattled Pro Bowler basked in the glory after he made his grand arrival at around 5:30 pm.

“We love you, Tom!” excited women shouted, as he exited the chopper and waved.

Wearing a navy blue blazer and khakis, Brady looked like he didn’t have a care in the world — despite the NFL’s damning 243-page report that charged he was “at least generally aware” that locker room attendant Jim McNally and equipment assistant John Jastremski were deflating balls in the attempt to give him a competitive advantage in the AFC Championship game against the Colts. Twitter users were quick to crack jokes about the grandiose arrival.

    1. Tom Brady just flew over my backyard in a helicopter and the clouds fucking parted and flowers grew :eek::eek:o_O
    2. Maybe Brady had to take a helicopter because the tires on his car were flat?:rolleyes::rolleyes:

If I'm Brady I get a new agent. This guy is making enemies of people he shouldn't be accusing of being dishonest, etc. This guy could push a 2 game suspension into a 4 gamer. Get rid of him, bro.

Brady is digging his hole deep. Rather than admit wrong doing he continues to deny. This is going to get worse for him, exposing all the enablers (Kraft).

I want to hear McNally and Jerminski

He's still digesting it because he knows he already was caught in a lie and he doesn't want to further implicate himself prior to league punishment being announced. I'm sure his lawyer told him to bite his tongue. Nothing he says at this point helps. He can acknowledge, accept responsibikity and apologize after the punishment if he wants to start to regain credibility.

The locker room guy (McNally) referred to himself as "the deflator" in a May 2014 text, so by no means do I think it was exclusive to the AFCCG.

My guess is that at some point, Brady said, "Bring the balls down to the refs the way we like 'em. If they pass, great. If the refs add air, try to take it out before kickoff." God only knows when that happened since both guys have been working for the Patriots for years now.

The texts about the Jets game last October (where Jastremski confirmed that the refs pumped the balls up to 16 PSI) is sort of what's making me believe the scenario above is probably accurate. Maybe because of the varied routine (I think that was a Thursday night game?), McNally wasn't able to doctor the balls before it started, resulting in the "f-ing bricks" that Brady supposedly referred to.

"I read the whole report and all I need is Brady to tell me he didn't do it and I'll believe him, because he's such a good friend." - Teddy Bruschi on ESPN

What the fuck? Why is he even commentating on this shit.
