http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...eport-released-on-footballs-used-in-afc-title Yeah. That's what they are. Scumbag cheaters. P.S. Brady is the greatest of all time. As in, yeah. CHEATERS. Greatest CHEATER of all time. Absolutely! Peeping Tom? No. Cheating Tom? YEAH. THAT'S IT.
If this is a redundant post, I'd ask the mods to merge. That said, are you sure? You're being sarcastic, right?
Cheatriots know this: WE will beat you anyway That egotistical moron Gronk would not answer reporters questions instead flexed his biceps I hope Maudlin and Williams knock him on his ass
Guy I have been talking with people in 3 different threads in the NFL forum and also one in the Jets forum for like 3 hours about this. No I'm not being sarcastic.
This hoopla is ridiculous, on the NFL books it says anyone caught altering footballs is subject to a 25k fine. Honestly the NFL should've just issued the 25k fine and been done with it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The league has it within their discretion to fine higher than that. Those are guidelines but nothing is etched in stone anymore.
if it was a big deal you would think the minimum would be a little higher than $25k which is less than pocket change for an NFL team.
For a first time offense, sure. But I think under the circumstances, it will be higher than the $250k for cameras in unauthorized locations. It's not like they are going to fine the stadium staff $25k; they will fine the team. The team has no recourse against the league, so BK gonna have to pay.
And this is not an isolated incident. Had a RB purposefully scuffed a ball or TO actually written on a ball with a Sharpie, $25K fine and everyone goes away. Brady doctored every single ball after having been accused of it on prior occasions, lied about it, got Belli to give us a science lesson that he was ill-equipped to do, got Kraft to feign supreme indignance demanding an apology, then refused to cooperate in the investigation which proved HE systematically orchestrated the deflation by paying off 2 flunkies with swag. No, this is not a $25k fine deal. This is much much worse. _
this was a first time offense though, the league hadn't notified him. Indy complained a day before the title game, that was the first complaint.
Stokes, your not that guy in Jersey that sued the Patriots in federal district court over spygate, are you?
Agreed. But with no conclusive evidence in the Wells report, it's hard to come down on the lackey's (if the League even could), and harder to come down on a player with a Union behind him. The team has no legal recourse to pursue, which I feel was made even more evident by Kraft's statement yesterday, which leads me to believe it would be easier for the League to Nuke the team (fine, draft picks, even suspend Kraft although being exonerated by Wells) rather than the employees and/or player who "more probably than not" played a role in it all
We don't know what the league knew or didn't know. Indy accused him and there were reports of this by other teams. That he wasn't notified of his cheating is irrelevant. He knew better than anyone he was cheating. And the texts mention deflating footballs in October. Not a first offense. To believe otherwise is naive. _
