For all those that won't actually address a post specifically, yeah, I already know what the franchise tag costs

to me it all depends what we can get in a trade. if we can get an impact LT or multipe first round picks i would move him isntantly. if not, id sign him.

Pro Bowl, not All Pro. Just sayin'. Two different things.

Not that those awards mean a whole lot either, but those are two different classifications and Mo wasn't close in the All Pro voting. I always thought All Star games were more popularity contest too.

We'll get to how the roles of everybody play out before Mac makes a call on it, if he doesn't sign him before that.

Should be a lot fun to see Bowles scheme it.

This is exactly why I'd trade my 1st round pic every year for three 2nd round pics.

I would be interested to know what these "astronomical demands" are. Do you have some insider info for us? It is possible I missed these being announced.

Is he worth it?If he wants JJ Watt money then the answer is no.If he wants what he is worth then yes.Its hard to figure out what Wilkersons worth ,Paying him a huge contract makes me nervous for some reason. He really needs a big year it would be nice to see him get double digit sacks again like two years ago

Yes. It lasts forever. Can't understand why more teams don't do it...

There is no shot in hell the Jets get numerous Ones for Mo. We wouldn't even get a first for him. Then the team has to pay him? No way.

How do you figure we won't get any firsts? He's a star DE in this league which is hard to come by. Teams will definitely give up a pick or two

mo has never made the pro bow, which, like you stated, is a pretty meaningless accomplishment these days

however, he was second team all-pro in 2013 ... and that is a big deal for any young player

Trading Mo for ADP and a pick would help our offense catch up to our defense.

Mo is not JJ Watt level, yet there's only about 3 other guys near that level in the league today. He's a notch below that which is still star quality. You always try to keep your homegrown talent home, especially the ones who have been great character guys and that's Mo. I'd only want to look to trade him if we get equal value for him in terms of high draft pick(s) or a trade for an impact starter.

Trading Mo for ADP would make even less sense than signing Mo to a Watt level contract

    How so?

With our weakness at QB, an all pro RB would help our team a lot more than an extra 3-4 DE would.

Even if you give more value to Mo getting a draft pick back would address that issue.

ADP makes less than Watt so we would also be using less cap room.

    What am I missing?

AP is 30 years old. Why are we classifying Wilk as a 1 positional player? he's not just a 3-4 DE.

    Damn no respect for Wilk.
