Wasting great outings by Niese AND Gee is not something this team should be doing.

We are really missing Wright and d'Arneau in the line up. Herrera can't hit for shit. Tejada can't hit. And Flores can't hit and Plawecki is eh. We need a bat in the middle of the lineup.

What Pathetic fucking ownership. We had the best rotation in baseball when Wheeler was still healthy (nobody could have seen that coming) and we did NOTHING to solidify the pathetic defense up the middle and lack of power in the bats aside from signing Cuddyer who looked AWFUL yesterday on both sides of the ball and Mayberry who is hardly worth mentioning, with all due respect to both of these guys who are professional athletes and I have the utmost respect for, but what a way to squander the season. We are a wildcard team at best (Most likely the second spot) when we could have been a powerhouse.

Madoff has our shortstop and our power hitter. Murphy should be in the American league but he hardly justifies it the way he hits, so I don't know where he belongs and I can't stand him anymore. Anybody who thinks this team is going anywhere in the postseason is fooling themselves unless we make a huge deal at some point this season which I still don't see putting us where we need to be. What a way to squander one of the best pitching rotations is baseball. The worst part about it is we cant even blame our GM because he is shackled by ownership. Pathetic.

The Mets didn't lose money with Madoff. Pitching wins championships. I think this team can definitely win with its current setup. They're not the team they were in the beginning of the season but they're much better than what they've shown so far. Not time to worry yet. Losing Wright and d'arnaud hurt too.

Putting Familia in the game right now is why Terry is a bad manager. Up by 4, one out, guy on first. Bring the closer in. Dumb move. Why give your best bullpen guy two days off?

Yeah I didnt get that either. But thats TC for ya.

Maybe he thought since we have Harvey going against a dreadful Philly team next game Familia most likely wont be needed.

    Off day for the Mets.

    Know what that means?

    SOFTBALL AT CITIFIELD!!

One of our lawyers puts on these crazy events, he rented out CitiField tonite for a softball game--about 25 of us (am taking my younger son).

Bunch of ex-Mets will be there including Mookie Wilson.

But the best part, one of my heroes (since fallen) of my 20's will be the pitcher for both teams--Doc Gooden.

So psyched, it's a gorgeous day for a ball game.

    I'll get some good pics.

That sounds like a blast, have fun. Mookie Wilson? If he comes up to bat and you're playing 1st don't pull a Buckner.

I just gave my 20 year old a history lesson on that 86 team. Fun reliving it.

I've met Doc a few times the last couple of years, he still looks like a really sweet innocent kid that let the bright lights get the best of him.

Such a shame, he and Darryl should have gone into the HOF together.

As career Mets, never to have played for another team.

Tonight is going to be very interesting with Harvey vs the Phils. I wonder if there is going to be any retaliation for Harvey plunking Utley a few weeks ago.

Great great time last night. That stadium is gorgeous and being on the field is very cool. Doc is such a nice guy, he pitched for both teams, threw a bunch of brushbacks on the guys we were jokingly calling for, caused some good-natured mound charging--was pretty funny.

We actually had the Met's PA announcer on field with us and he was announcing everyone's at bat and doing play-by-play and commentary over the stadium loudspeakers. Was surreal, because he announced my name to bat and I was like "You're the guy" pointing up at the booth--it was the Voice of the Mets saying my name over the loud speaker echoing through the stadium. He was a nice guy, pretty funny.

Stella in cans was nice too.

He signed baseball for everyone after. My son got one but I don't collect signed baseballs, I usually give them to my older brother. So when I asked if he'd sign it to my brother "Joe" he said "is he a nice guy?" so I said, "no, he's a dick, so can you sign it "You Suck" and he started cracking up and he did.

No Maury needed for you. He is definitely your son. Ha Adorable, and that’s really cool that you guys got to share that experience together. Oh, and thanks for putting Doc in my mind. I’ve been meaning to read his book. Mets lose. :-( I’m excited that Syndergaard has been called up but I thought we would see Matz first.

Not that Im on the Ruben Tejada bandwagon but that game is probably not won tonight if Flores was playing SS..and if Murph was playing 2B for that matter.

As bad as the offense is right now I think I'll take Tejada being in there for the time being. Its clear at this point he isnt that much of a downgrade from Flores.
