I saw something on Bleacher Reports grade on us that describew this drafy pick in a pefect way. Even though that site feels like fan drivel it talks about everything. Anyways they used the comparison from the Detroit Lions and how they didn't have to selecr Calvin Johnson when they had Mike Williams and drafted a bunch of WRs before but his ceiling was so high and success rate was damn near guaranteed.
Fox Sports' Pete Schrager was on WFAN this morning and said that Williams wasn't just the best player in this draft, but he had an NFL GM say to him a few weeks ago that he was "the best defensive lineman to enter the draft since Ndamukong Suh".
lets all chill out...Everyone gets really hyped up here...Did we all forget the God Jadeveon Clowney that came out and Kiper/McShay just couldn't stop wetting their pants talking about how he is the most generational defensive player in a generation?
Wow did they really say "the most generational defensive player in a generation"? That sounds so stupid

Ha, I wasn't getting hyped at all. There's a difference between rationally processing the intrigue that a player's superlatives brings, and shouting about it on a message board yourself. I was literally just posting what I heard on the radio this morning because it's quite a statement. And I don't see any problem with the hype on Clowney - it's hard to say that was a mistake considering it was injury that has stymied development and/or assessment.
I dont think anyone expected him to be injured the entire season. He hasn't really had a chance to show what he could do yet. He has a long career ahead and I think most people still believe he will be a great player.
Khalil Mack might end up being a better NFL player then Clowney. Mack is almost un-blockable. If Leonard Williams becomes a complete beast, we may look back and thank the Heavens the Raiders took Cooper instead of Williams.
I think they'll both turn into great pros, the question marks about Clowney before he was drafted are now proving to be well founded There are few question marks about Cooper and Williams.
Thrilled with this kid. You watch games of him and he fully disrupts the game. Manhandles offensive lineman with great hand use. They had him playing nose in a 3-4 sometimes at USC as well, I think we will be fine to find a good spot for him regardless of the front
Yea but come on you need to obsess over what will happen with Wilkerson. There is no possible way to understand how he can benefit this team without talking about trading Wilk away, didn't you figure that out yet? What do you think we can get in a trade for Wilkerson? Don't bore us with ideas about defense, we need angry douchebag rhetoric.
Can't say I'm surprised. Some people on here declare players busts after only 1 season. I'm just glad they aren't the GM of the Jets.
After one season? We have guys here declaring Devin Smith a bust and he hasn't even signed his contract yet.
Yeah, it really is amazing how people here think they know more than the people doing it for a living over the last 20 years and making millions of dollars in the process but that's Jet fans.
