    Bully?

You're the idiot that decided that Cleveland didn't offer anything for a QB who YOU said was worse than Brett Hundley who went more than a round ;later.

Then you derailed the thread talking about your stiff Mannion.

    Get over yourself.

I've been in negotiations on deals long enough to know when it's 99% likely it was a snooker deal. Like I've said many times, it's poker. Sometimes you misread and call when you should have folded, or fold when you should have raised. It's part of the game and it happens.

Hey 1968jetsfake--we're trying to have a discussion about our newest QB draftee, why don't you go start the Official "I hate the Bryce Petty pick and the Jets are idiots for falling for Jacksonville's Ruse" Thread and go dump on him over there.

Yes, since you like quoting the NFL sources so much on the deal, most NFL sources felt that Hundley was the Better QB, but none the less a 3rd day QB.

Hahahaaaa for who? Which NFL team?

We've ALL been in negotiations 1000x of times but I've never had Ian Rappoport tweet out what my negotiating strategy is.

    Now you're going hyperbolic crazy.

    Where did he go?

    Before or after Petty?

Were there any draft day reports about someone anyone trading UP for Hundley?

I never said I've been in negotiations for any NFL team dumbass, but as much as you'd like to make it otherwise trade negotiations are just like any other negotiation and barter, just more dollars involved in most cases.

I've been touting Petty the whole thread.

I don't need to dump on him his first week as a Jet.

But continue to show us what a jackass you are.

Lol you are taking out of your ass. And bickering for a used battery at the flea market doesn't count as a negotiation deal

one thing is for sure......Petty will be the most popular QB on the team.
lol, the backup always is........until they start.

that said, i'm really interested in Petty as a prospect to develop.
he's got all the physical tools and intangibles i'd look for. needs some seasoning on how to read progressions, and experience with how to handle the first option not being open. that's where his play tends to get erratic.

really liked this pick.. with time, he can be a solid starter.
wish we could play him right away, but i know we shouldn't.

In that case where did Petty go? After Mannion (who you call a noodle arm) and after Grayson. There are always reports of teams sniffing around on moving up, my point was if the Browns HAD made an offer Jacksonville actually would have considered moving down X number of slots for that it would have taken more than a 7th rounder to block such a deal. The Browns were looking to make a substantial move up and to get the Jags to even consider making the deal it would have had to have been a pretty sweet deal. If the deal had been sweet enough for Jax to actually move down they would have taken that instead of the 7th the Jets offered. That's common sense.

Like I've said many times, including originally (before you decided to have a cow and make a big deal out of it) it wasn't a big deal, the cost was low so no harm.

But no, the STroke master had to go off and go on his crusade because I stated an opinion he didn't like.

    Back on topic.

Jets QB Bryce Petty: My job is to prove to other teams 'what they're missing'

In the weeks leading up to the draft, former Baylor standout Bryce Petty was considered the third best quarterback prospect behind Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota. Over the weekend, NFL teams disagreed.

Petty, who figured to go as early as Round 2 and no later than Round 3, didn't hear his name called until early in the fourth round, 102 picks after Winston was the top selection. He was also the fifth quarterback drafted, with Mariota going No. 2, and Garrett Grayson and Sean Mannion going in the third round to the Saints and Rams, respectively.

Though most experts thought Petty had the best arm in the draft, there were concerns that he was a system quarterback in a spread offense and that doesn't translate well to the NFL. Not surprisingly, Petty disagreed.

"It's all about the person," he said, via ESPN.com. "My desire is to be the best, regardless of what system I'm in. What I was asked to do in college was different, but it's not because I couldn't do a pro-style offense or a West Coast offense or whatever you want to call it. That's what I was asked to do, so I did it."

Also not surprising: Petty, who was unshaken by his draft-day slide, plans to prove the skeptics wrong.

"No, not at all," he said of being disappointed about lasting until the fourth round. "That's part of it, when people question you. My job is to prove to the 31 other teams what they're missing out on. ... My confidence is never shaken."

That said, Petty arrives in New York with no expectations about his role. "Starter, backup, whatever it is, that's up to the coaches," he said. "My job is to have a great attitude about it and be a great teammate and learn all I can from the guys who have been there and done that."

And unlike two years ago, when the previous Jets coaching staff tried to shoehorn then-second-round pick Geno Smith into the job, new coach Todd Bowles is in no such rush.

"He's got a lot to learn," Bowles said, via NJ.com. "We're not looking forward for him to be a starter right now."

New general manager Mike Maccagnan agreed, saying that while Petty has "a high ceiling ... there's going to be a learning curve" too.

"Time will tell what kind of player he'll become, but we do think he has all the physical attributes and parts to be a good quarterback in this league," Maccagnan continued. "It's going to be a maturation process from where he is in college ... but we thought he had all the raw potential and ability, that if you're going to invest time in a quarterback, he had all those attributes that would be very good to work with."

For what it's worth, NFLDraftScout.com's Brandon Thorn liked the pick: Petty -- B. Competition for Geno. Petty has a great arm but like Geno coming out has limited exposure to pro concepts. Chan Gailey is a great coordinator for him.

I made an off hand comment in one post and said it was no big deal, Strokes decided to latch on to that and blow it out of proportion, have a problem take it up with his dumb ass.

Stop derailing the thread 1968jetsfake--this is about Bryce Petty.

Nobody gives a shit about that Weak Armed Stiff Mannion OR Grayson.

Seriously, go start a Mannion thread, fake.
