Per Twitter: Jets fired director of pro personnel Brendan Prophett and scouts Rick Courtright, David Hinson, Cole Hufnagel, Chris Prescott and Seth Turner were also fired. All from previous regimes. Obviously, he couldn't fire them leading up to the draft , but i'm glad 95% of the previous regime(s) is gone.
Wow. Apparently thee tremendous job done by his staff was not quite good enough. This GM has balls, smarts and no BS attitude
if you don't fit the philosophy you get the fuck out. My kind of GM. I don't know if anyone from any of the previous regimes are still here.
Hello I'm Mike Maccagnan, And I get shit done Jets fans. Mac is a true scout, he has his style and preference so this does not surprise me. He ultimately made the calls on the picks, he was out there at combines and most places.
I'm guessing he has his own team and couldn't do this until the draft was over as the people fired were the ones that put everything together. They will probably all end up in Miami as they worked for Tannenbaum when he was here.

HOLY COW!!! (as the Scooter used to say). Mac doesn't mess around. I wonder if he knew he was going to do this all along, or didn't like their recommendations for FA and/or the draft, or if there are major philosophical or methodological differences. I hope that he has some people in mind that he knows and trusts.
GOOD this is awesome change finally true change i feel like weve still had some bits and pieces from previous regimes, its about time we get really everyone the fuck out
I think he already had his team in place. These were redundancies that got impacted right after the draft. _
Not surprising. I believe, and correct me if I'm wrong, that scout contracts are yearly and run from May - May each year.
New Day evidently at Florham Pk. I'm pretty sure this was in the works long before the draft. Most new bosses want their people in places and obviously, keeping these guys on until after the draft was probably the easiest way to affect a true transition. No tears shed here... Out with the old, In with the new! Mac is officially driving the Jets Train!
not the jets in the last decade + Some of these guys survived 2 or 3 regimes [Tanny, Idzik, Bradway]. So no, this doesn't happen all of the time, not with the Jets.
Like him or not, MM has taken more decisive action in 3 months to fix this ship from the ground up than most previous GMs have done in years. I for one think he might be the best acquisition so far for our NYJ bar none. Talent starts at the top, and we finally got some. With time, he will transform this organization from a laughing stock, a substandard group full of bravado to a real serious contender, a team that speaks softly off the field but carries a big set of balls on game day. With my colored glasses firmly on I envision we are one major move away from becoming a leader. Thus the constant search for a QB must go on at full speed, and that is why I was happy we took a shot at Petty and great kudos to Mike the knife for one very clever strategic move up. IMHO our off season, training camp, 2015 season and our future has become much more fun and worth looking forward to. Fuck yeh go Jets. Mike the knife lives on...
some folks stayed but there were always changes made. I don't know how many of the previous regime survived.
This should be no surprise. He probably had this planned and already has the positions filled, or at least a short list of candidates.
Brian Costello@BrianCoz 2m2 minutes ago Some of you are confused about the timing. Teams wait until post-draft 2 make changes so scouts don't go 2 other teams with intel on draft Rich Cimini@RichCimini 6m6 minutes ago Four of 5 scouts dismissed today were hired by previous GM John Idzik. Cole Hufnagel was hired in '06 by Mike Tannenbaum. #nyj
