Just a few things I enjoyed from the episode...

    1) John Snow cutting that guys head off
    2) Tyrion getting captured.. I can't wait to see how that plays out
    3) I find it funny how innocent Tommon (sp?) is. His queen is going to manipulate the shit out of him and Cersii knows it and can't do anything about it.
    4) Does Reek remember who Sanza is?? The way he looked at her when she walked by was interesting.

I thought last night's episode was much, much better than the first two. I might rewatch it tonight too.

Episode was kind of difficult for me gauge, mostly because of one fairly glaring deviation from the book. Other than that it was okay.

I thought this episode was better. It's pretty clear that the books and TV series are increasingly going to have to be treated as separate entities. They've said the show will finish before the books, hell if GRRM doesn't get his finger out the show might finish before he finishes the next book.

The sword fight was pretty cool.

I did notice they had the scene where they specifically referenced Jon being a bastard, Stannis saying it wasn't Ned's style and then immediately transitioned into the story of Lyanna and Rhaegar. Far less subtle than the books.

Sidenote that isn't really a spoiler but in the books Sansa doesn't go to Winterfell, part of the result of that is nobody knows whether or not there are any Starks still living (Rob is dead, Rickon's whereabouts are unknown and we know Sansa and Arya are fine but nobody else knows)...but now it's going to be common knowledge that Sansa is still alive. Maybe Arya is too far away to hear about it, at least quickly, but Jon would find out pretty damn quick. For me that's kind of a big deal.

Truly was a great sword fight in the end...Ser Barristan is the greatest swordman fighter in Westeros. He is legendary, although he is old as fuck in this story I like how they still showed his ability to fight even though it was overwhelming. Those 2 took out most of the Sons of Harpy there.

AND CLEARLY the scene with Sansa and Littlefinger by Lyanna's grave is full of foreshadowing

Btw, I gave up on the books. The show is clearly better now and they are going to deviate more and more but probably take some pivotal moments from future books if George lives. If not, there is so much the showrunners can do. I hope they do 10 seasons. PLEASE!

haha I just LMAO'd so much at this comment I saw on youtube regarding the Ser Barristan and Grey Worm's fight scene in the end.

Only at the point of death can we expect Obama and McCain to work together...

Still pissed they took Rhaegar's scene out of the House of the Undying. That chapter is still one of my favorites.

"He is the prince that was promised, and his is the song of ice and fire." Reading that still gives me the chills.

I would respectfully disagree with you. The show is fantastic, there's no doubt about that but A Song of Ice and Fire is by far the best series I've ever read.

I also saw a thing today where someone compared a line from Syrio Forel and Jaqen H'Ghar. Syrio said "There is only one god and his name is death" and Jaqen said "There is only one god and the girl knows his name."

Could Jaqen H'Ghar been Syrio Forel, survived that fight only later to be captured and then freed by Arya?

My thing is that either he or Meryn Trant had to die in that room. Considering Meryn lived, we have to assume Syrio is dead, because I highly doubt Meryn lets him walk out of that room alive.

I tend to agree but it's not impossible that he just escaped somehow. We never actually saw him die or saw his body, even in the books (as far as I can recall anyway), so anything is possible.

Me and my brother had this same conversation not too long ago actually. We never see his body or anything like that so I do concede that it is possible Syrio survived. I just find it extremely unlikely that as soon as Arya left Ser Meryn was like "sheww, glad that's over, thought I was going to have to kill you. Alright now, on your way."

Where is the kid that can't walk. Not looking for spoilers but little finger is wrong. Sansa is not the last living Stark.

The kid that can't walk wont be on this season. They confirmed that Bran/Hodor storyline will be back next season.

It will probably be a crossover with the next Avengers and Star Wars movies

The season is building nicely. Interesting views on Jon Snow. I always had the suspicion that he wasn't Ned's bastard but thought he would be RB & Lyanna's, perhaps naïvely. After the scene in that catacombs I thought back to the scene in season 2 (I think) between Aemon and Jon where Aemon reveals he was a Targaryen. Perhaps that had more meaning than I thought at the time.
