We have went through free agency and the draft. Sure there is the whole Mo Wilk's contract situation, lets see if they address it this summer. But overall, this regime is very professional and truly Bowles and Mac are a TEAM. The acquisition of players, taking care of most of our guys, and building morale around the whole franchise have given me wood! From all the interviews I see of players, exec's, media, and folks around the league they are noticing what the Jets are doing and we are winning talent over to the Jets. That is what makes me happy, they are all business and fixing our weaknesses immediately. Like arming our QB (whoever we have as starter) with weapons. No longer do we have to rely on Cumberland or Clyde fucking Gates for catching a red zone TD. Oh and more importantly, I can tell Mac is aware of what the fans want on this team...Sure we want a franchise QB, but he also knows we had to get our offense help. We got Marshall to pair with Decker, both are not home run hitter types so we acquire the Devin "Home Run" Smith in draft. We get BPA Leonard Williams to bolster the line and possibly cover our asses with Wilk. Oh and we brought Revis Island home... Yes, my excitement is strong, not for a possible 12-4 record or a playoff run that is not what I am looking for this year...But excited for the direction and Jets brand changing it's culture and creating something that the whole league can respect and especially build something that can last a long time. LETS GO JETS!
I'm gonna temper expectations. I think we are well set up in the front office and coaching staff but it'll take a couple years for us to be close to formidable again.
Actually beginning to look forward to watching them play - in 2014 had no faith when you looked at the terrible CB situation. Why for example Idzik paid Patterson the same as Cromartie got from the Cards to replace him was a total mystery to me - TERRIBLE - as Patterson had never played a full season and had a far lower ceiling. But will hold off handing over the keys to the city until they win a few games. In fairness to MAc he noted that the Jets are undefeated but also are winless under his regime
I'm always optimistic but very reservedly so because it happens to me every offseason and then we still suck during the regular season.
I'm still in the "Show Me" camp. All of these moves on the face of it, look great. Mac definitely gives me more confidence that Idzik ever did. At the end of the day though, I need to see what we have on the roster and the only way to find that out is on the field. I feel better than most offseasons BUT, I'll wait and see what the team actually brings to the game before I say one way or the other.
Short & sweet. Another non winning SB season coming up for 2015 making 46 straight seasons of NOT winning the SB
Well, we have the players...now let's find out if we have the coach. I know what Ryan would have done with this group.
hope is plain old horse manure that gets U nowhere. Realty is what gets U ahead in the world & this upcoming season will be 46th straight non winning SB season. Maybe because I was saw SB 3 as a adult anything less then another SB win means a another unsuccessful season sorry to say. Coulda, woulda, shoulda are what fans of losing teams practice like Junc
Yeah, yeah..I know that..what I meant was we have the best group of players overall that we have had in at least the last 10 years..maybe 20.
Very excited! I think we can play against any offence and have success! Our offence has potential with a deep run game and some nice wide outs!
We will not win the Super Bowl unless Geno starts playing like Russell Wilson (not happening). Having said that, we are set up to have a dominant defense again. We absolutely should have a top 5 defense. If the Jets stay healthy, 10-6 is quite possible. The best thing would be for Geno to play well enough to maintain his starting job the whole season and during the 2016 offseason he and Bryce Petty have a battle for the starting job.
