I honestly believe how good Bryce becomes is not on Bryce, but rather on the coaching staff.

I firmly believe that while not HOFers, both Sanchez and Geno would have become better NFL Qb's under a different coach than Rex the QB killer, and a different situation (watch and learn, rather than thrown to the wolves).

It is too late for Mark, but not necessarily too late for Geno. Even if both Fitz and Geno flame out, Petty should not see the field this year period.
And just because it may take him 2 years on the bench doesn't mean he might not be able to be a starter in this league.

He needs to call Dan Brown for help on his new book or sign up for Opus Dei.

So we agree if Geno doesn't become at least an average NFL starter, Fitz plays, Bryce doesn't under any circumstance, and if our pick next year is low enough, if we find a qb we like, we still draft them, yes?

Looks a little bit like Ken O'Brien.

Your original drivel was Hundley was better than Petty.

Petty went before him so NFLers all agreed.

I'm not arguing that what the Browns tried to do was a good move or bad or that the Browns know what they are doing.

Other than that it was reported that the Browns tried to move up and you shot it down as BS based on nothing other than your own hunch.

I'll believe the report by an NFL insider over you every time.

Jets made a smart tradeup to get the guy they targeted and snatch him from a team that was targeting him.

I don't agree. It's up to Bryce. The only thing out of his hands is getting the opportunity to play. Mark and Geno were well coached and both got plenty of chances. Opportunity is the key element for a Qb in the NFL. Most never get it. Mark and Geno did. I don't blame this one on Rex.

i think we win like 7-8 games max with sanches. probably 4 or 5. he basically destroyed philly playoff hopes with his horrible ill timed turnovers and sailing 3rd down passes.

    he is terrible.

I hate Mark but he was satisfactory with Philly last year. A lot better than he was with the Jets. And Chip re-signed him. But Bradford is Philly's best hope in 2015.

Mark is underrated as a runner. He can handle the running aspect of Chip's offense better than most people think. But he's too inaccurate to handle well the passing aspect. Plus he can't read defenses. And he takes the sucker bait of experienced Dbs who smack their lips when Mark is on the firld. The thing is he could play a lot next season. And possibly help to get Chip fired when they don't make then playoffs if Mark is starting.

i wouldnt say satisfactory... i think satifactory would ahve meant not blowing it down the stretch.

he wasnt awful, he was pasable. but he killed them the last few games with back breaking turnovers.

the fact chip brought in 2 other qbs kind of says all you need to know.

mark was basically in the best situation possible, and still had basically a 1:1 td to turnover ratio.

Mark might get a chance to play in 2015. Esp. if Bradford gets injured or is ineffective. Or they still could trade him even though they won't get Mariota. If so it would be suicidal of Chip to do so: going into 2015 with Mark as his starter.

When push comes to shove there probably is a well under 50% chance that this guy will have a successful career with the Jets. Which means being a starter in the future. Not necessarily a franchise Qb but a medium to good NFL starter. First he is a 4th round draft pick. And guys we've drafted higher than him over the years like Kellen Clemens and Geno have been mediocre to bad. He's not them but in terms of odds: around 33% maybe as a guess.

Drivel snivel, fi fi fo fum I smell the argument of someone really dumb. My original argument always has been that the only QB worth drafting after 1 and 2 was Mannion.

I never said it was or wasn't true, I stated an alternative scenario which is known to occur in the NFL, frequently. As far as the insider, remember it was insiders that were saying the Browns were going to offer both their 1st round picks and then some for Mariotta, something the Browns deny. Which is true? We'll never know.

You mean if you wanted them to have a chance to play this year, I am guessing that's not in the Jets plans.
