Both is an issue for the colts frankly

And right like I said you don't need a huge investment at rb but you do need to be able to run the ball...

And Denard Robinson just started to play the position.

I wish he never brought Denard up because now I'm upset we don't have him instead.

Im just saying, you give most running backs 28 shots to run the ball, they are probably breaking the 110-120 yard mark. That's all Stacy did when he "broke out" his rookie year.

Robinson is certainly for explosive which is certainly more preferable given our current roster.

Just walked in the door so catching up. Was Robinson traded too? Why are we talking about him? Big Robinson fan; I was pushing for him to be drafted by us a couple years ago.

No just a comparison given the sample size

Robinson really just started playing RB this year; last year he was listed as an "OW"(Offensive Weapon) and prior to that he was a QB. Stacy has been a RB his whole life. I'll take Robinson for $1,000 Alex.

The seventh round pick had very little value so I am not losing sleep over it.

I really don't think all that much of Stacey and hope that he ultimately does not make the team.

Considering the fact that Ridley is coming off of an injury and is a roll of the dice this was a good trade with Stacey serving as insurance in case Ridley is no longer the player he once was.

There are other players I would have liked to get in a trade for this pick or even select with the pick but it Ridley can not go we would have been down a RB and that potential hole has been filled.

To the best of my knowledge Denard is still on the Jax roster and isn't being shopped by the Jags. I guess the assumption is that he'll be out now that they have Yeldon. Probably true. I loved him as a running Qb at Umich but I can't see him being around that long as a Rb. He could be a really good and exciting CFL Qb. You could have said the same about Brad Smith.

I'm not jumping up and down over Zac Stacy, but he's is well worth a 7th round pick.

I think that's the way Mac feels about it, too.

    Not even worth a 7th, he's a redundant part.

The front office must have doubts about Chris Ivory or want insurance in case Ridley's not the backup or whatever. Stacy is the only back on the Jets whose contract goes through 2016. He's only 24, and three years younger than Ivory.

There's Powell and to be honest I'd rather have taken a flier on a young RB with speed than someone who basically tests out as a poor man's Ivory or Powell even. Guy's only averaging 3.9 per carry over his career, Shonn Green got run out of town for averaging over 4.1 per carry.

Curtis Martin had seven seasons below 4.1 ypc and a few under 3.9. Not comparing the two as talents, but throwing out his YPC is not a reason he won't succeed. He has elite agility scores and was super-productive at Vanderbilt of all places. Our offense is in a better situation than Shotty's Rams and all you need at RB is opportunity and blocking. He can produce here.

Curtis also broke a lot of runs and hit an occasional home run, Stacy's longest run of his career is 40 yards and only two runs of over 30 and he's not much of a threat after catching the ball either. In other words he's a guy you can get just about anywhere. On the plus side he's only 2 years in the league so there is a chance of some upside, but he wasn't even the #1 back before they drafted Gurley.

He's 24, cheap and signed through 2016. This is probably Ivory and Ridley's last season's and we'll add the impact back down the road. I hear you on adding a game-breaker and would have liked one. Zenner via UDFA or earlier in the draft before we traded back and missed some RBs.

But doesn't change how I feel about the Stacy acquistion. Guess we'll find out.

He also might play with a chip on his shoulder since the Rams drafted his replacement in the Top 15 and gave him away.

My problem is that every RB on the roster is a between the tackles runner. No one to spread the defense on the outside.

He ran for 973 yards his rookie year and 293 last year after Tre Mason beat him for playing time.I like him but he isn't gonna get many reps here.He requested to be traded as soon as they drafted Todd Gurley and he got his wish
