Round 1: Leonard Williams DE-USC Round 2: Devin Smith WR-Ohio State Round 3: Lorenzo Mauldin- OLB-Louisville Round 4: Bryce Petty- QB -Baylor Round 5: Brandon Marshall WR- Chicago Bears Round 5: Jarvis Harrison OG- Texas A&M Round 7: Deon Simon NT- Northwestern State Round 7: Zac Stacy- RB- St. Louis Rams Wow. What a draft! I am going with A+.
Itswaytooearlywhatiswrongwithyouyoucantgrafeadraftforthreeyearsfffuuuccckkkkaaarrrrrgggghhhh. A+ This roster is now stocked with proven players and a great mix of rookies. Fucking McCagan is a magician. I will NOT however use that stupid nickname. _
Early on I am going to give it an A. I can see that Macc likes certain types of players. A lot of this draft is too build depth. Solid players.
A fucking plus x10000 I couldn't be happier Best offseason in team history. This team is gonna shock some people Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
May as well throw DeVier Posey's name in there as well. In all, I'm happy with the positions they went after although I had different players in mind. I really liked Eli Harold over Mauldin and was one of the guys who wanted to take a chance on DGB, but otherwise I can't really complain. Indifferent towards Stacy. I'll go with an A-
Good point I forgot Posey. It's true you can't really grade a draft for a few years, but at the moment: Jets fans should be pleased with how things went down this year. It is truly amazing how much can change in 1 year in the NFL.
You know, I was initially sour on the Williams pick because I don't see it as an area of need and thought we could have picked someone else who might actually have more impact this season...but I've been thinking about it and I've changed my position: it was a good pick. A very good pick. I liked our 2nd and 3rd round picks and don't hate the Petty pick (if they had to get a QB that was the one I wanted). A 5th for Marshall, a 7th for Stacy and bringing in Posey (who isn't anything to be excited about). The DT we brought in the 7th: who knows, it's a 7th rounder. I might have drafted a punter or someone who projects to contribute on ST or something but, again, it's a 7th rounder. If I'm grading the entire draft including our trades it's got to be an A or A- at worst. This is coming from someone who isn't typically overwhelmingly positive about what the front office does.
I'm a fan. I think Harrison is the big pick. He could turn out to be a steal or be off the team before the year starts. It was a good risk for the 5th round, though.
I don't about you but I miss John Idzik. LMAO First time I have felt really good after a draft in a long time. We will be true contenders in the AFC East with all this talent. Fitz can have a good year maybe resurrect his career. A couple of picks I am not sure of but will trust Mike. They probably will pan out well. A-
Williams, Smith, Mauldin, Marshall and Stacy can contribute in 2015. That is pretty good. Petty is my favorite pick because I liked him in college and think he can be a good pro QB. Possibly as soon as 2016.
Yeah that's the only thing that keeps me from saying outright A+. But it's ironic the first year the draft's not in NY everyone's pretty unanimous in loving the draft lol
Definite A from me. I had my concerns, but days 2 and 3 addressed some of our needs and overall gave us some nice pieces for the future. Not entirely sold on Petty, but w/e, he's a 4th rounder.
Round 1: Leonard Williams DE-USC He'll replace Mo Wilkerson so he doesn't make the team better, it's a first round wash - D, considering we could just resign Mo and have signed Kevin White it's an F. Round 2: Devin Smith WR-Ohio State One of the least experienced and talented WR's in this draft - F Round 3: Lorenzo Mauldin- OLB-Louisville - B+ Round 4: Bryce Petty- QB -Baylor No chance this guy is an NFL caliber QB, he doesn't play a pro-style offense and he's not even that good at the spread offense. A waste of a pick should've went O-Line - F Round 5: Brandon Marshall WR- Chicago Bears One year rental, if he can not beat women for the season and actually stay on the field he should be productive - C Round 5: Jarvis Harrison OG- Texas A&M YAY an offensive lineman, worth a shot but not expecting much - B Round 7: Deon Simon NT- Northwestern State Who care - C Round 7: Zac Stacy- RB- St. Louis Rams Good pick up for a 7th rounder - A Overall I rate this draft a D, we didn't do anything to fill the actual weaknesses on this team like O-Line and offensive talent.
The thing about this draft is it felt like somebody reasonable was in charge. I know Sheldon was a great pick and I give Idzik and Rex credit for him. By and large though it felt like they were making picks by tossing darts at the draft board.
It's funny. I have only been researching Bryce Petty' s career since last night, but he's fascinating. People see polarized on his talent. The knocks on him are based on his age, his Senior Bowl, one read offense and his medical history..... still surprised he fell to 4th.
