I agree it's all about the Truth (hence my screen name lol). We all ultimately want the same thing, to understand the Truth of our existence and of the Universe. ..... to that end, I have started a thread in the "BS forum". Let's continue over there then. (or if you would prefer doing this privately via PM, that's fine too...just noticed you mentioned doing it offline)
It's true. I was too stupid to see it. Score one for Poeman. But you can't deny what I said about the dreadful history of the Catholic Church.
Ok sure np. I'll have to come back to it later though. Have some stuff to take care of and then gonna watch Spurs vs. Clippers hopefully.
Christ did not drink the blood, or encourage the literal eating of his flesh, he was a Jew and the Jews law prevented them from drinking or eating blood, if he did anything to violate that law, he would not be sinless. So yes it was symbolic. Here we go with the man made teachings.
We will take this to another forum, sorry man. people do care about religion, you may not but others do.
Please find my thread in the "BS forum" if you want to continue this discussion, but it doesn't belong here ...... but since you brought this up, Jesus was a Jew, yes, but he changed the interpretation of Jewish law so dramatically that he had to start an altogether new religion, which we now call the Catholic Church. For example, in the Bible it documents Jesus breaking the Sabbath on numerous occasions (a big reason why the Scribes and Pharisees wanted to have him executed). The most notable example is when he cures a blind man on the Sabbath, thus doing what the Jews at the time considered to be "work" on the Sabbath, a big no no. Jesus explained in his famous teaching, straight from the Bible, that "the Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath", in other words, the Law was meant to serve the best interests of people. Jesus advocated for the Spirit of the law, which is Love....he did away with all of the unnecessary rules and regulations that strict orthodox Jews practiced at the time. He also said that "I did not come to abolish the Law, but to fulfill it", meaning that the essence of Jewish Law, the 10 commandments, was still valid, but the Spirit of that Law was being routinely violated. ..... and Jesus did say that unless anyone eats of the flesh of the Son of Man, and drinks His blood, he shall not have life within him (meaning spiritual life). He was not talking about blood in general, he was talking about the blood He would shed on the cross. And since we cannot literally drink Jesus' blood today, or eat his flesh (and Jesus understood this), he instituted the Priesthood with Peter, whom he called "the Rock, upon whom I will build my Church". Thus Peter was the first leader of the Church, the first Pope. It's all directly from the Bible my friend.
I wanted Mannion, but still happy we picked Petty, anyone is better than Geno. Here's to hoping Fitz is healthy and can start this year. Petty sits for the season and starts next year. Geno has been the worst QB in the NFL for the last two season (fact), and I never want him to see the field again. Even an average QB can win with this defense and rushing game, problem is Geno is not even close to average.
I wish players could be protected on the practice squad. Because I'd put Petty on the PS for this year.
If Petty can't beat out Simms, I've been totally misled by what I've seen in his highlight clips. I hope they let the kid carry the clipboard instead of being inactive. He needs to sit and learn from Fitz and learn what not to do from Geno. I wouldn't expect to see him challenge until 2016 at the earliest. Love the kid's arm and size though.
Why can't they keep him on the active roster? Geno, Fitz, and Petty. Most teams carry 3 QB's don't they?
Exactly. We need the kid to start learning from day one. He doesn't play, but he does wear the headset and carry the clipboard. Let him learn the game and serve as a reminder to Geno that his leash is VERY SHORT.
Because Petty will be a project and we may need the roster spot for a player at another position that could contribute this year.
