Time to tee up the offense (now or never). So yes, get a QB,RB,OT. The way the politics at the FO is shaping up we can see Mac giving Bowles hugh gifts with Williams and Maudlin. Gailly getting sloppy seconds with Smith. BTW will Geno or Fitz have the arm to hit him in stride downfield?
I would address OL or RB/WR in the 4th, then in the 5th take Petty if available or if not try to use the pick to get Met.
Here is my draft board for today Round 4 Trenton Brown - only guy left i can see replacing brick Tre Jackson Tyrus Thompson Round 5 Tre Jackson Chaz Green Jamil Douglass Bryce Petty Round 6(we 3 7ths i doubt we dont end up here) Bryce petty brett hundley KR/HB/WR/whatever - Jamison Crowder Round 7 Jamison Crowder Kenny Bell James Sample - why not add another louisville guy with the last pick
I thought they could have picked Tre Jackson last night in the third, if he's still sitting there I could see us snagging him up.
We have 5 picks. I expect to get at least one OLine, Rb, and Qb. We could take a flyer on a punter in the 7th, and maybe some ILB depth or something. Clemmings would be great at the 4th but I wouldn't be unhappy if we decided to go Qb before the Bills draft one. Personally, Hundley > Petty.
our draft has resulted in 4 players: Leonard Williams Lorenzo Mauldin Brandon Marshall Devin Smith mauldin is a "gift" but smith draft a round higher is "sloppy seconds"? id love to see us go tackle next, but we surely havent ignored offense
Another thing to keep in mind while second guessing the team.... They are addressing the needs people here wanted them to, and also went with BPA with our first pick. Mariotta wasnt an option so no criticism either way on that front. Douzable isnt tier 2. guy is a lock on the 53 man roster
u think Brown can project to RT, or he just another G conversion project? we need to start building that T depth. would also like to draft a Punter and a TE who can actually block with these late picks. if not that TE, than an H-back to replace the FB position.
He isnt a gaurd... i dont think he was ever a gaurd.... Florida moved him from Gaurd to tackle once he got his weight down. he started 5 games there and looked really good. i think he can play left tackle, let alone right. i dont see brown as a "conversion project" i seem him as a guy who struggle with weight as a young transfer, and once he got his weight down and was moved to takcle was able to really do some good things. at 6'8" 355 with good feet its worth making the investment
My gut tells me that if we take a QB before round 7, it's going to be a trade. And I think we get Mettenberger or Glennon. He put Hundley through the ringer during sraft process . I don't think we take him but McCag definitely not afraid to grab a player through trade (Marshall and pozier). I think we get Glennon for our fourth. Makes too much sense.
i'd rather go offensive line in the 4th/5th instead of getting another guy to compete for our QB spot. im fine going after someone who is head and shoulders better then what we have, but i think right now offensive line is more important then throwing another hat in the mix at QB
If true, calcified bone issues are scary. Ended a lot of careers, Cam Neely and Bo Jackson off the top of my head
Douzable has an excellent shot at making the roster but not as a starter - he backs up Sheldon and Mo, playing time last year was 31%, with Williams in the mix that falls further. I was really happy that they re-signed him as I think he is a good player but I also tried to keep the marking simple w/o too many levels so will offend some. If you look at my post I estimated 7 DL make the final roster and have 4 Tier 1 and 4 in Tier 2 - I feel IK is the one who will struggle most of the 4 fighting for three spots. As for Babin too many dumb penalties and too little actual production for my liking - not sure how that indiscipline will fly with the new regime IMO - others are welcome to feel he brings more but I will not miss the flags.
