I bet you were PISSED when we took Sheldon over Cordarelle Patterson, EJ Manuel, Geno Smith, and Tyler Eifert.
Thanks to the great job done by our GM at addressing our needs this off-season, we can now select BPA instead of trying to fill needs by reaching in the draft. Macc already has a believer in me.
I guess you're referring teams like Seattle and Detroit. The Lions finished 11-5 last season and scored a total of 39 points more than us....
Ok, I'm an idiot. I'd draft Gregory tonight in the 2nd. For me an idiot is drafting a 3rd round WR in the 2nd...
it is never dumb to take super talented players regardless of which side of the ball they play. it IS dumb to take mediocure talent high in the draft because of need. if offensive talent is there, take it. if defensive talent is better its not dumb to go that route. in the first 2 rounds you need starters/playmakers moreso then anything specific
I agree, but he won't be available when it's our turn to pick. The Titans will almost certainly open round 2 by snatching him, and if not he'll go next to the Bucs. Anyone who wants Gregory will likely have to trade up to the top pick in round 2; in fact NFL.com is reporting that the Titans have been fielding multiple trade offers.....would you be in favor of Mac and Bowles doing this?
At this point never say never. If he's not then he's not. That is the point of BPA. I'd let the first couple of picks happen. If he's still there then I'd consider moving up a couple of spots yes. BC fact is, if he isn't there someone else will fall to us likely a WR.
I'm not as high on the receivers left on the board as the players at some other positions. Dorial Green-Beckham reeks of bust to me, way too many red flags, basically a Josh Gordon clone. Sure to disappoint. I think the best players available are the following: 1) Randy Gregory 2) Landon Collins 3) Jalen Collins, CB 4) La'el Collins, OT 5) Eli Harold 6) TJ Clemmings All of those guys were projected to be 1st round picks (except Harold, projected to go high 2nd round). The only one I wouldn't take is the CB, since we are so stacked there, but any of the others would be great value.
Seatlle won and Detroit hasn't won shit since 1957.. What's your point? Drafting defense over offense wins championships?
