Heck the way this is sitting I almost hope the Jets trade back in round 2. There's going to be some very good players even at #15 or 16 and the Jets really could use a couple more picks in the draft. Of course that requires an offer that's worth trading back on.
I am thinking we stay put in round two and trade up from 70 if one of the top 10-15 guys left drops far enough.
I don't think the Jets really have enough ammo left this year to trade up after the 2nd, unless they want to start trading future picks or players. I mean yes technically they have the ammo to move up in to the 2nd again but would you really want just a 3 player draft? The teams roster is pretty thin once you get past the starters and they really need some depth.
If the other two are La'el Collins and Randy Gregory sign me up. I would even throw in a fourth rounder next year for that haul.
Fisher. He could change our offensive line woes in an instant... Kick Giacomini over to RG and we have Carpenter on the other side. Next year, he takes over for Brick Other than fisher, Gregory, Harold, Strong and Kendricks are BPAs.
Do we believe Mike Maccagnan now that he will take the best person on his board meaning it must be Gregory or Collins or was that just garbage talk to justify taking Williams when they don't really know how to fit him in? Don't get me wrong I love the pick but something has to change to have those four on the field at the same time all the time.
Top 2 would be Jaelen Strong and Jake Fisher. Honorable mention: Randy Gregory, I know, defense again, but the guy could be a monster in pass rush for us with our D-line.
BPA doesn't just mean draft without regard to character. If Winston had been a suspect in mureer investigation or something days before draft and was top of Mac's board, doesn't mean we should take him. I know Collins isn't a suspect but I don't know if jets are going to use a high 2nd round pick on someone who could have this sort of issue. I can live with what Gregory did (given Blackmon and Gordon) but there's still risk there too.
We could use both of them so it will be interesting to see where they land. I think Collins may not be taken at all but I think Gregory goes this round and within the first 10 picks. The bigger issue I have with Gregory is his weight, I'm not sure he can maintain what he will need to be to play in the NFL.
Intetesting. I definitely agree Gregory goes first unless murder thing is resolved. My bigger concern is what if BPA is Landon Collins the safety from Alabama or the defensive tackle?
If they go with another DT, they better have plans to turn back the clock and play a 5-2 defense. Devon Smith would be great.
With previous regimes, it wouldn't surprise me picking a player like Hundley in the 2nd round. But I would really be surprised if they did here.
