    It's hardly a disaster.

We acquired a #1 receiver moved decker back to his suitable spot, new offensive system, amaro set to take strides forward, added Ridley, added Fitzpatrick and added an og

    Soooo no.

Way too logical at this point of the evening.

I'm going to go to bed. Hopefully feel better about the pick in the morning.

Yeah OK, Megatron catches 400 more yards than him in injured years, had a nearly 2000 yard season and is two years younger.

Point is no one has any clue what Marshall will do for us, and he's old and definitely not the future of our receiving corps.

Honestly the only argument against the pick is if you wanted a trade down. Evidently there wasn't one available with satisfactory value, so I'm glad they took BPA. I know it's not a position of need but linebacker wasn't a position of need for the Giants when they took Carl Banks after already having LT and Carson. That didn't work out too badly for them.

The 1st round is over. If we were planning to try to get a first for Mo, one would have to think this would have been the draft. His trade value only decreases after this year. Bill Polian said an unsigned player start off with a lower value to begin with.

Kevin White hasn't even played a snap in the NFL and he's the future?

Still not sure how people are upset by the pick. I'm upset we didn't get mariota, but we got a fantastic consolation prize, and I also figure we'll take strong, DGB, Gregory, or someone else very worthy of an early pick tomorrow. It almost looks like an extension of the first round early tomorrow. I'm excited.

If BPA is a kicker in the 2nd round do we pick him? What if BPA is a punter? Do we grab him? What if it's another DE? Top 10 pick you pick for need not BPA.

Gonna have to pry him away from the Colts... they took him in the first.

I'm as big a supporter of BPA as they come. BPA really only comes into play when one player is clearly and unquestionably higher on your board than another player. The necessary gap between the top player on your board and the guy after him is determined by the individual team, but it's never to the point of minutiae as insinuated by those who don't believe in it as a system - if that is the level of closeness on the draft board, then the players are considered equal and you go with the positional need as the tiebreaker.

True BPA is when you draft a player who is the required (team-defined) distance in front of another player whose position is more necessary to the present roster. Because of this, BPA is much less applicable in the later rounds as the players are much more closely rated. At the top of the draft, especially at pick 6, you have much more potential to have guys available in different tiers all together.

EDIT: Just adding that I can guarantee that Williams and White were not in the same tier/grouping and/or did not have similar ratings on the Jets draft board.

One of DGB or Strong will probably be available when we pick. Either one would definitely alleviate a lot of the disappointment some of you are experiencing.

You'll have to get him from the Colts somehow?
