I like that. Smart thinking, while we continue to go DL and CB every year in the 1st round we should take a punter every year in the 2nd too. I mean we might as well.
OK for those who wanted White who is throwing to him? No matter who you roll out there the biggest question mark on this team is QB. Unless god is out there playing WR Geno is going to make Geno mistakes and drafting White and him being dependent on Geno to be a success has more failure written on it more then drafting a corner this early. Once Marcus M. was drafted that went out the window. I would have liked a OLB but after Fowler was drafted we had two undersized OLBs for a 3/4 defense as options. Now with Ray getting cited and the OLB Gregory and Ry should be around into round two because of off the field issues if we go undersized then go and do it then in round two or three.
Lol this is draft day and yall seriously bashing Marshall? wrongfully at that. Bears had no problems with Marshall in fact they praised his leadership there after he was traded. Yall make stuff up man..
I saw a clip of Charley Casserley before the the draft started. He was talking about a fundamental approach to the draft as a GM. He talked about staying focused on your big board, to tune out the outside noise, and to select the best player available. Not to waver according to need. Mac being a Casserly disciple it was prophetic
No but he's openly spoken about being a borderline personality. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/page...reness-nfl-mental-health-crisis-espn-magazine
The whole world is better than Geno. Fitz and Gailey working their magik is our secret plan I suppose.
let's be real for a second...no one thought he would be there at #6. For once someone upstairs was looking out for us and we got the player that arguably is the best one in this year's draft. If you can't be happy about that then maybe all those folks that make jokes about jets fans may be on to something.
I know about his borderline personality disorder. He performed on the field just fine for with for the Broncos, Dolphins and Bears. How does him being "crazy" affect the Jets negatively? If he doesn't perform on the field or becomes a problem in the locker room they can just cut him next year. I suppose you think playing NFL football is for the "well-adjusted." Lawrence Taylor was a self-hating whore-mongering coke head.
It was pretty highly debated topic on the "worst case scenario" thread among others. Him falling and us being dumb enough to take him was the worst thing that could've happened and it did. Rather than trading down or adressing an actual need we did this because we felt we had to. Not smart.
They spend WAY more time than ANYBODY on this board planning for this day. They have a priority list of what players they want and they have all kinds of trade scenarios in advance. They don't pick the way us fans pick. They spend all day every day planning for this b/c it's their job. So, I'm sure he did think the fit through.
Brian Costello @BrianCoz 3m3 minutes ago How about this scout's quote on Williams from the Nawrocki guide? "He is Reggie White. He can play anything and dominate." #nyj o no
Yeah I think the idea is to build a winning *team*. It doesn't matter if you have hall of famers at every position in he front 7 if you don't have a QB and can't score more than 10 freaking points a game.
