It doesn't, you have to balance it out with free agency. But this guy is the best rated prospect in the draft and they got him at 6. That won't happen every year. They were not solving the QB issue no matter what they did with the pick.

I feel like this is Sheldon Richardson all over again....Another DL?? That turned out pretty well

I trust Mac and Bowles...they seem like sharp guys and they drafted a guy that many had as a top talent

Our only true hole going in was QB which we couldn't really fill....We truly went BPA

If he were the BEST prospect in the draft then surely anyone other than TB would have traded for him.

Maybe the second team picking, throw in some extra shit and they get the BEST prospect in the draft.

    No.

QB is the MOST important position in organized sports.

We fucked up by winning 2 meaningless games.

But woo hoo we beat the Fins.

I'm taking it well but the pent up frustration might manifest itself in an angry fuck tonight.

We did that when we took Brick. Have we found a QB since then? No. You take the QB first. OL are much easier to find that QBs.

It was never about tanking. It's a stupid concept. Players, organizations will never tank.

It was always about us fans. What we HOPED for.

Stupid stupid wins to root for that did not matter.

And rooting doesn't effect wins and losses.

We just didn't NEED those 2 wins.

They made some fans feel better about their team.

    Those wins hurt their team.

What's with the anger? I'm not calling anyone a dickhead for rooting for worthless wins. Root all you want and be happy with the phyrric victories.

When the Redskins made the pick for Sherf, I knew right at that moment the Jets were either going to trade down or take Williams. The fact that the draft clock wound all the way down to zero, they were entertaining many offers.

Having determined the end result, this was a no brainer. Not only does this improve on what is already a strength, it makes their D downright scary. They had to pick Williams, hands down the best, stated by many, in the draft.

This does not in any way makes it official that Mo gone. He's still under contract for the 2015 season. That's what 'Franchise' tags are for. Jets
are in a win/win situation here. The rest of the NFL beware.

I root for the Jets to win - no matter what the ramifications. Let's get over this.

No joke, whether you can accept this or not, some scouts had Winston and Mariota rated in the 20's compared to the other draft prospects.
If Andrew Luck was in this draft, I would probably have a k-nip-shit about it. But Winston/Mariota are not worth the amount it would have taken for the Jets to move up.
