So don't draft for need for next season, draft for the possibility of two awesome DE's wanting a contract too big to pay in the next 2-3 years and us not wanting to pay them, got it.

I know they pump up whoever they are reviewing, but if watching that video doesn't get you psyched about Williams, nothing will. And if he compares in any way to Suh as they say he does, you take him at the 6th pick every day of the week.

I mean, you could say the same things about slot WRs from system offenses (see Tavon Austin for example).

It's not that easy to just trade for a stud QB. You're not getting anyone better than who the Jets have now without paying a ridiculous price.

lol ok lets be honest no one said coples was a sure thing pass rusher

plus what happens when richardson demands big money? at least we can evaluate who we want to give big money to while having williams there

and based on everything i watched and everything a read, maybe not a sure thing edge rusher (i said take the money wilk demands and spend it on one) but williams is a sure thing impact player

This pick had to happen. Can't imagine trading back with the best overall player still on the board. Very happy.

This was a great pick. They got the consensus best player in the draft at #6. Smart teams go BPA. I don't understand how anyone can complain. It's not like the Jets have major needs elsewhere - thanks to Macc's great FA, this was a luxury they could afford. Sure, there's more of a "hole" at OLB, but your need for an edge rusher decreases significantly when you now have THREE monster rushers on the line. And when you have Brandon Marshall, Eric Decker, and Jeremy Kerley--one of the top 7 or so receiving cores in the game--you don't need to go with a WR either. They can find a #4 in a later round.

FWIW the NFL Draft Tracker grades everyone picked so far in the high 5's or in the 6's except for two guys. Amari Cooper got a 7.1, Williams is at 7.5, which they describe as a future All Pro.

No one? Do you want to put money on that? Were you here draft night?

And Gholston was absolutely a "sure thing", point is no one is a sure thing, we already have a top 4 defensive line, no need to draft another one. As good as people think Decker and Marshall are fact is Decker is a #2, and Marshall is a wild card after last season. We need a top WR and have for nearly a decade now.

Are you drinking with Mangolden Showers? Did you miss that whole thing where we traded for Brandon Marshall?

As far as this pick is concerned, the "jury is still out" in my court of opinion.

On 1 hand, if the choice of *El-Dub* leads to the loss of Mo' Wilk, then it's 1, dumb-@ss pick for a hi-caliber player such as Mo', you gotta' go all-ballz out & resign him. On the other hand, if this move was made with the intention of *El-Dub* playing alongside with a newly resigned Mo' (& the Co'), than Mac & Bow will have created 1, INSANE defense that will absolutely terrorize not only the NFL, but also the NBA, MLB, the NHL, the Ice Hockey Federation of Russia, the MISL, the MMA, the PGA, the WTA, the PBA, the EPL (look out Manchester United) and finally, winner of the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight! Otherwise, Kevin White would have made an excellent choice on the O'.

    The "jury" is still out.....!

I like the pick I was not sold on beasly very boom or bust. I know we are loaded on the d line but bpa. He is end not a tackle so he should be able to get to the corner and set the edge against the run. if you can imagine a dline of Mo, Sheldon and LW on a 3/4 linebackers should be clean across the board. Never mind when we go to a 4-3 with Snacks in there.
the strength of this team is the dline. You draft the best defensive player in the draft and place him into a group that already has 2 studs this kid should have a better chance of success versus a receiver or an olb. Just because he will be harder to double team because the Sheldon or Mo should able to go off on a one on one.

As far trading back you know they were trying but if the offer is not there take the BPA. A 3/4 lb at 240 which Beasly means there could be some issues with him going against tackles. he actually reminded me of Arron Mayben (or however you spell his name) mostly s speed rusher.

As far as receiver why, when you have Geno the living interception at qb. The onlky thing that will make him better is a brain transplant. I hope he proves me wrong but damn he makes the same mistakes over and over and over again. They need to address a qb in round two then go oline. I will be happy with the off season

I want Mo resigned because you have to reward your stars you drafted. The ones who help set the stage. Resign him now before he gets on the field, because one of the two, Mo or Sheldon are going to have a great yr because this pick also helps them.
