Play Coples at QB and let him rip his brands off as he powers through the line gobbling up massive yards. _
I know. Brandon Cooks was on the board, he would have been a great fit. And its not like some 20/20 hindsight thing, he was the most popular pick on this board. what makes it worse is that even if, for whatever reason, we felt it absolutely necessary to grab a safety, HaHa was a much better fit. Like we need another SS I'
Trent Dilfer said today on the Michael Kay Show that Geno will be much improved this year...if he's half as good at analyzing as he was a qb...oh wait...
oh come on now, this board was experimenting with every possible draft scenario over the past 6 months. people thought that he would go sooner, sure, but why would that prevent the board from showing interest in him?
With my rational mind, I can't fault Mac for going BPA and taking the best player in the draft. I know that he should do what's right and not worry about what previous regimes have done, but being a fan isn't about just being rational. It involves the heart and emotions, and I'm sick and tired of the offense being ignored and all the DAMNED DL picks. I wouldn't be as pissed if they had taken an OLB, but I'm sick of the effing DL.
No ones gunna show interest in a player at a position of strength that was also expected to be long gone....BPA simple as that however....Good teams make these hard picks
Yeah, okay. I'm analyzing the pick, not crying like a bitch over it. Everybody on the planet knows he was a top rated prospect, and for many the best one on the board from the start. Pryor has nothing to do with it either...wahhhhh
WR isn't a huge position of strength....We have 2 good starters (one with a few years left), a slot guy, and nothing else really in terms of long term prospects. DE/DT was/is stacked with young players Also, it was assumed one of White or Cooper would be there for us.....No one thought Leonard would be there
And "long gone"? It's been pretty well known the QBs would be going 1/2 for a bit, and even fowler at 3 looked like it was a good bet for a while. So what....Oakland at 4, maybe although many people had em taking Cooper. So 1 or 2 spots is so far gone that its not even within our imaginations that he would be available?
Jets fans weren't going to be talking about a DE/DT that was expected to go in the top 5....He could be all world, we wouldn't be talking about him and he may very well be as many rated him as the best player in the draft I don't love the pick, but sticking with BPA is something many will give credit for
I hear you, I wanted OL myself but I think you make teams adjust to your strength and if you can make your DL one of the best you do it.
OK, if Williams has a good rookie year and we hang on to Mo, would you be cool with going DL again next year in the first? Why/not? At what point does it become silly?
