    As Parcells would say:

    1. You cannot have enough pass rushers.
    2. There are only so many big, physical guys fast enough to play 3-4 DL.

Here's little hoping that you would turn out just as fearsome and fantastic as other Jets DL.

    Welcome!

Hate this pick. Don't hate the player, hate the pick. Makes no sense to draft defensive lineman year after year after year. We have now have 4 first round D-lineman and 1 NT who is pretty freaking good while running a 3-4. Nothing we get for Mo-Wilk will be better than keeping him and drafting someone else.

I'm happy for the value, but I hope we make something of it. I'm hoping another trade happens tonight.

Obvious pick, Leonard was BHA (best hair available) on the draft board.

    Great player at 6.

Super low on our list of needs though. Unless we trade Wilkerson which would be dumb, this pick doesn't exactly make us loads better unless we play a lot more 4 man fronts.

Maybe we take a big ass NT next year to complete the squad.

First team in history to win the SB never to give up any points.

Because that's what the NFL has become, a defensive league with all the rule changes.

    Fuck offense, it's overrated.

It's guaranteed, what's a Jets first round pick if its not defensive line? We'll be the first team in history to run a 8-0-3 defense.

Just in case - let me chip in with what I think.

With the spread formation becoming prevalent, I don't think Jets D is going to rely on OLBs to rush the passer. They will probably go with Nickel or Dime as the base D.

That means Jets will need 4x competent DLs - that's where Leonard would fit. It's going to be 4-men rush basically, so edge speed doesn't mean much.

This also matches the FA acquisition during the FA period - a lot of DBs, but nary a linebacker.

Running on this front is not going to be easy either - so I am not really down on this pick like some others are.

4 man line, Mo turns into our beast past rusher and Coples also goes into a natural fit as well

4 man line meaning a 4-3 base with Coples-Mo-Williams-Richardson? Bowles already knocked that idea. If he changes his mind we still have Snacks without a spot.

We can rotate snacks in depending on the situation on rushing situations

This isn't hard at all to make it work easily

Coples would be in on 3rd down, Mo-Snacks-Williams-Richardson on regular downs
